In the coming 2014, there will be a lot of new product announcements from Canon. As rumored before, many new lenses will coming as “year of the lens for Canon“. Besides, new camera bodies such as 7D Mark II and new EOS-1 will be also released.
In 2013, there is no new Pro DSLRs from Canon released, but in the coming 2014 to early 2015, there will be a total of 4 new Pro DSLRs to be announced.
According to NL, Canon will announce a new EOS-1 DSLR camera in 2014. This is not first time we heard a new EOS-1 body coming in 2014. Several weeks ago, CR also said there will be a new EOS-1 with big screen.
According to recent rumors from Northlight image, there will be a new EOS-1 series body to be announced in Q2, 2014.
Canon USA today announced new firmware updates for Canon EOS-1D X and Canon EOS-1D C. The main update is Deliver Improved Creative Control and Convenience for 1D X and 1D C. 1D X firmware update will be available in January, 2014. 1D C firmware update will be available in this November, 2013.
Canon is sending invitations to journalist for a professional event in Germany. The event date will start on October 12, 2013.
Canon is currently testing next EOS-1 body with a large 3.5″ screen. This 3.5″ LCD screen will have multi-touch feature, and higher resolution than the current 3.2″ LCD screens.
The rumored 44.7 MP Canon EOS-1 series camera is in heavy testing these days. This 44.7 MP camera has the ability of shooting 4K videos, but its eating batteries very fast. And Canon is still working on this camera for sensor, batteries and software. We will probably see a development announcement in late 2013 to early 2014.
The rumored Canon 75+ MP Pro DSLR now got more detail, Northlight image told that this 75MP sensor is actually contain a stacked sensor that uses three sensor layers in red, green, and blue in order to capture greater amounts of color information in each shot. Just like Sigma’s Foveon X3 sensors.
