  1. You left out the 18-55mm kit lens, which is actually the one I have found most useful for most shooting on a D3100 and would be just as good on a 3200.

  2. hi guys, need help im ah newbie in using dslr cam, i just purchase a nikon d3200, and i want to buy a 50mm f/1.8d lens bec its cheeper the 1.8g, and has ah good blur background effect than the kit lens 18 55mm.. will it work event if they don’t have a built in motor? will it fit? i dont mind using manual focus but will it work? i apologize for my english.. thank you

    1. Yes the 1.8D works on the d3200 but again you have to manually focus it.
You can find the 1.8G on ebay for $180 which isn’t a bad price and it makes very little noise focusing so it a good lens for shooting video.

  3. *Best 50mm:
Nikkor 50mm 1.8G is the best on a budget. If you buy a body only this is the lens to get. Much better than a kit lens if you can live without zooming. Nikons new Mirrorless camera comes with its own version of this.

    *Best Zoom lenses:
I don’t see anything good on that list except the sigma 18-35 but it will not work on a full frame camera at 18mm so if you plan on moving up in the future to FF this lens becomes a 20 something to 35mm. Hardly enough zoom to justify mounting.

    *Best Wide-angle:
The Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8, Nikkor 24mm f/2.8D, and the Nikkor 35mm f/1.8G are probably all decent but if you got the Nikkor 50mm 1.8G you really don’t need the 35mm version. The 50mm is a good portrait lens for a crop sensor. The 35 would be too distorted.

  4. I am new to photography. We have bought a d3200 with a double lens kit. I have twin babies and want to capture close ups of their faces etc however find the smaller standard lens not focusing in close. What lens do you recommend I buy to be able to capture very close up shots. Thanks

  5. Very informative article, i know from it a lot about Lenses because i own just D3200 body, and here is http://goo.gl/9fw0s1 an other article that i found it extremely helpful because it is provide lot of information about each lens.

  6. Hello y’all, does anyone know where to get an auto focus 2X magnifier for d3200? I have an 200 mm and want it to be 400mm. Thanks
