The EF 35mm f/1.4L II USM Lens (Amazon, B&H Photo Video, Adorama) was announced last week, price for $1,799 in US, release date will be on October 4, 2015. Turkish photographer Mert Gündoğdu has posted first impression of this new lens, along with some sample images and comparison with old EF 35mm f/1.4L USM lens.
Canon recently has developed Blue Spectrum Refractive (BR), a new optical element for use in camera lenses that corrects chromatic aberrations at an extremely high level to achieve superb imaging performance. The first lens use this BR optical element is the new announced EF 35mm f/1.4L II USM Lens (Amazon, B&H Photo Video, Adorama).
After 17 years, Canon released the new EF 35mm f/1.4L II USM Lens (Amazon, B&H Photo Video, Adorama) . It uses newly-designed Blue Spectrum Refractive Optics, which claim to correct chromatic aberration better than any other existing technology. The EF 35mm f/1.4L II includes a total of 14 elements, two of which are aspherical and the other being ‘Super UD’. It offers 9 aperture blades and a minimum focusing distance of 0.28m/11in. According to latest rumors from Northlight Image, Canon will make a product announcement on August 14th, Friday, 2015. The detail of this announcement is not known yet. Source just said a new camera and two new lenses will coming.
