L-Rumors says several trusted sources are describing a Sigma fp II: a cine-leaning L-mount compact with an EVF, due soon. Sigma has not announced it. There is no body photo of the new camera.
The list is short, and one line is already hedged. A 24MP sensor is written down with the note that it is unclear whether that sensor is actually this camera’s. The rest, as published: L-mount, open gate, internal RAW, an EVF, a body slightly bigger than the current fp L, a price around $2,500, and an announcement that could land by November — or, the site asks, on October 24.
What is not in the rumor
L-Rumors says it does not have the internal RAW specification, and it suspects a Sony FX5 would still record better RAW. The site calls the fp II a sort of FX5 competitor at about half the price. That comparison is the site’s, and it does not include a codec, bit depth, or frame rate for either camera.
IBIS is explicitly unknown. The author hopes it is there. Do not treat that as a feature.
The current fp L is the 61MP stills body in the same small L-mount box, with an optional EVF rather than a cinema-first layout. “Slightly bigger” and “has EVF” are the only size and finder claims on this rumor. Open gate and internal RAW are named without formats.
