Sony has made the fisheye zoom official. The FE 8-14mm F3.5 Fisheye G (SEL814G) is the company’s first full-frame E-mount fisheye zoom: circular at 8mm, diagonal at 14mm, constant F3.5, $1,599.99 in the United States / $1,999.99 in Canada. Sony says it arrives in October 2026; the US store is already on pre-order with estimated delivery October 13–14. B&H has the lens listed as well for Pre-order.
That is the lens from the leaked product shots and the September 8 date dump. The rumor ticket was about $1,499. Sony’s list is a hundred dollars higher. It is still G, not GM.

Circular, diagonal, and a 64mm VR trick
At 8mm the 180° view is drawn as a circle on a full-frame sensor. At 14mm the same 180° is a frame-filling diagonal fisheye. That is the Nikon 8–15mm / Canon RF 7–14mm idea, now native on E-mount. Until today the first-party workaround was still the 16mm fisheye converter on the FE 28mm f/2.
The other use case is spatial/VR. Pair two of these with two VENICE Extension System Mini units (sold separately) and Sony says the optical axes sit about 64mm apart — close to average human interpupillary distance. Inner zoom is the gimbal-friendly part: the center of gravity does not walk while you rack from circular to diagonal.
Sony will show the lens at IBC 2026 in Amsterdam from Friday, September 11.
