Canon has filed a new lens patent for Canon EF 10mm f/2.8L ultra-wide angle prime lens for full fram DSLR cameras. If this lens is announced one day, it will the widest prime lens for Canon full frame DSLR cameras. This lens could also replace the current EF 14mm f/2.8L II USM lens.

Recently, Tamron has filed several new lens patents (Tamron FE 35mm f/2.8, Tamron FE Macro Lenses) for Sony Alpha full frame mirrorless cameras, here is another new Tamron lens patent: Tamron FE 85mm f/1.8 VC. This lens should be much cheaper than Zeiss Batis 85mm f/1.8 lens (B&H | Adorama).

Canon today filed a new lens patent for next EF 16-35mm f/2.8L lens. Previous rumors said that Canon will release a new fast wide-angle zoom lens after EF 35mm f/1.4L II released.
Canon has filed another new lens patent for the upcoming EF 35mm f/1.4L II USM lens. The EF 35mm f/1.4 II USM lens is rumored to be announced in late Summer, 2015, will be the next new L lens after EF 11-24mm f/4L USM.

Sigma has just filed a new super telephoto prime lenses: Sigma 400mm f/2.8 DG OS HSM Sports Lens. This new lens should be much cheaper than Canon and Nikon version.

Recently, Tamron has filed a new lens patent for Sony Alpha full frame mirrorless cameras. This lens is Tamron FE 35mm f/2.8 Lens. Sony itself also has this lens price at $798. The Tamron version of this lens could be much cheaper.
