Nikon Files a Third Unreleased Camera in China: N2528 Joins N2324 and N2527

Nikon has put a third unannounced camera through China’s wireless paperwork.
Nikon Rumors says the new internal code is N2528, logged as CMIIT ID 26J99NA7E003 with an issue date of August 24, 2026. That sits next to two April filings that still have not become products: N2324 (April 7) and N2527 (April 24).

A radio certificate is not a launch, and it is not a model name. It does mean three Nikon bodies are far enough along to need Chinese Wi-Fi and Bluetooth approval at the same time.

The three codes on the board

Nikon Rumors’ table, drawn from MIIT/CMIIT records:

  • N2324 — CMIIT 26J99NA7E001, approval 2026-5961, April 7, 2026 — 5.1 GHz WLAN + Bluetooth
  • N2527 — CMIIT 26J99NA7E002, approval 2026-8018, April 24, 2026 — same class of radio
  • N2528 — CMIIT 26J99NA7E003, August 24, 2026 — same modules expected; no approval number listed yet

The useful hardware clue is the radio, not the code. Nikon Rumors says N2528 looks like the same dual-band 5.1 / 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi plus Bluetooth package used on recent mid and entry Z bodies — Z50 II, Z5 II, Zf-class — and not the tri-band unit on current flagships. If that reading holds, N2528 is a poor match for a Z9 II and a better match for something in the affordable or mid Z stack. It still does not tell us DX versus FX, EVF or no EVF, or interchangeable versus fixed lens.

Reported radio limits for the earlier pair, which Nikon Rumors expects to repeat: 5150–5350 MHz Wi-Fi and 2400–2483.5 MHz Bluetooth, OFDM plus classic Bluetooth modulations.

Three filings, five rumor slots

Separately, Nikon Rumors is still tracking five rumored cameras: a Z9 II; a minimalist full-frame interchangeable-lens body; a compact full-frame fixed-lens camera; a compact point-and-shoot; and an APS-C Z body. Those are rumor categories, not a decoder ring for N2324 / N2527 / N2528. Mapping any one code to the Z70 name that showed up on Apple’s ProRes list would be a guess.

Nikon Rumors’ usual CMIIT-to-announcement lag is 3–6 months. For N2528 that would point somewhere between late 2026 and early 2027 — the same stretch as the broader “everything is slipping” briefing from August. Filings can pile up while launch dates move. None of this is an official Nikon schedule.
