DJI has officially launched the Osmo 360 II, the second-generation version of its flagship 360 camera. The headline upgrade is native 8K/60fps panoramic video — up from 8K/50fps on the original — plus user-replaceable lenses, subject tracking, NFC pairing, and a bump to 14.5 stops of dynamic range.

China pricing starts at CNY 3,299 for the Standard Combo, with a higher bundle listed at CNY 3,999. A global / US store page has not gone live at launch.

8K60, Same Square Sensors, Better Pipeline

The Osmo 360 II keeps DJI’s dual 1/1.1-inch square CMOS sensors and the company’s “1-inch panoramic imaging” claim (the imaging area matches a 4:3 1-inch sensor). Pixel size stays at 2.4μm, aperture is still f/1.9, and stills remain at 120MP panoramas.

What changes is the processing. DJI now records native 8K/60fps 360 video, Super Night 2.0 at up to 8K/60, and 14.5 stops of dynamic range (13.5 in D-Log M). Independent front/rear metering is meant to hold highlights and shadows in mixed light — tunnel exits, backlit scenes, sunrise and sunset.

Other video tools include 10-bit color, D-Log M, 16K panoramic timelapse, 8K/120 “frozen time,” and up to 4K/240fps slow-motion in 360 (DJI quotes as high as 64x slow-mo after interpolation in DJI Studio).

Replaceable Lenses and Subject Tracking

The original Osmo 360’s biggest practical complaint was scratched glass. The II adds a harder ion-sputtered coating and user-swappable outer lenses, so a knock no longer means a service ticket.

New Subject Tracking can lock onto a person and keep them centered as the camera rotates, with a 4K/30fps flat export from DJI Mimo / DJI Studio. NFC tap-to-connect and one-tap AI edits are also new.

How It Stacks Up Against the Insta360 X6

Insta360 launched the X6 a day earlier, with 8K50, a claimed 1-inch-class Sony sensor pair, and US pricing from $699.99. DJI’s answer is 8K60, replaceable lenses, and a lower China starting price — but no confirmed US list price yet.
