At Photokina 2018, Sigma officially announced 5 new lenses: Sigma 28mm f/1.4 DG HSM | Art Lens, Sigma 40mm f/1.4 DG HSM | Art Lens, Sigma 56mm f/1.4 DC DN | Contemporary Lens, Sigma 60-600mm f/4.5-6.3 DG OS HSM | Sports Lens, Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 DG HSM OS Sports lens. Currently, only Sigma 60-600mm f/4.5-6.3 DG OS HSM Sports lens is available for pre-order at B&H Photo/Adorama for $1,999. Price and release date for other lenses will be announced later.
Along with GFX 50R, G mount lens roadmap, at Photokina 2018, Fujifilm announced the development of GFX 100S. The concept is to create Fujifilm’s flagship model with highest performance and innovative features fully capable of meeting the diverse needs of professional and high amateur photographers. Along with GFX 50R, Fujifilm today also announced new GF lens roadmap, add three new lenses:
Under the development roadmap, Fujifilm will be adding three new lenses, including the “FUJINON Lens GF100-200mmF5.6 R LM OIS WR” (GF100-200mmF5.6 R LM OIS WR), which comes in response to customers’ needs for a new telephoto zoom lens, as well as the medium-range zoom lens “FUJINON Lens GF45-100mmF4 R LM OIS WR” (GF45-100mmF4 R LM OIS WR) and the lightweight compact standard single focus lens “FUJINON Lens GF50mmF3.5 R LM WR” (GF50mmF3.5 R LM WR). With these three new lenses, a lineup of 11 lenses will be available to support photographers with a diverse range of shooting styles.
Fujifilm has officially announced the new GFX 50R Medium Format mirrorless camera today. GFX 50R is a rangefinder-styled version of the company’s GFX 50S medium format camera. Featuring a large 51.4MP G Format CMOS image sensor and X-Processor Pro image processing engine, the GFX 50R delivers superior image quality in a compact and lightweight body reminiscent of their renowned medium format film cameras widely used in street and documentary photography. The GFX 50R is equipped with a 0.77×3.69M-dot organic “OLED” electronic viewfinder for accurate focusing and framing images. Weighing approximately 145g less than the GFX 50S, this camera offers intuitive handling in a rugged, weather-sealed body to meet the varying needs of photographers.

Panasonic has officially announced the new S series full frame mirrorless cameras, the new 47MP S1R and 24MP S1. Prototype versions of the S1R and S1 will be displayed under glass at Photokina 2018, with a promised simultaneous launch date for both models of “early 2019”.
The two cameras don’t have a new mount; rather, they use the same Leica L-mount found on that company’s SL.
Thus, users will be able to use new Panasonic lenses, with the first three being a 50 mm/F1.4 fixed-focus lens, 24-105 mm standard zoom lens, and 70-200 mm telephoto zoom lens. Panasonic plans on releasing more than ten lenses by 2020. Users can also use Leica’s expanding L-mount collection, and Sigma is will also be producing lenses for the system. Together, the three companies have formed the ‘L-Mount Alliance’.
The S1R and S1 will support Panasonic’s Dual IS technology, which combines in-camera shake reduction with optical stabilization built into select lenses. Both camera will be able to capture 4K/60p video, which Panasonic says is a first for a full-frame mirrorless camera.
The S1R and S1 will have a three-axis touchscreen LCD similar to the one on the Fujifilm X-T3. It will have dual memory card slots: one XQD and one SD slot.
WIth these two new pro-focused cameras comes a new service and support program known as Lumix Pro, which will allow photographers to get their cameras repaired globally.

Ricoh has announced the development of GRIII high-end compact camera today, it will have a preview show at Photokina 2018. GRIII has a significant update to the GR and GR II. The camera gains sensor-shift image stabilization and on-sensor phase detection as part of an updated 24MP sensor. The camera’s 28mm equivalent F2.8 lens has also been redesigned and a touchscreen added for the first time. Price is not available yet, release date is in early 2019.
