The PowerShot SX280 HS is a compact point-and-shoot camera with a 12.1MP CMOS sensor and the DIGIC 6 image processor which creates sharp, high-resolution photos and Full HD 1080/60p videos. It provides a 20x optical zoom lens with a 35mm focal length equivalency of 25-500mm for a full range of shooting options from wide-angle to super-telephoto. Built-in Wi-Fi connectivity allows you to transfer images wirelessly to your computer and by downloading Canon’s free CameraWindow app you can instantly pass images to your iOS or Android devices and share them. A GPS Tracking device marks the location all your shots were taken and allows you to create maps of your shooting with free Canon software.

Nikon just launched the new COOLPIX A camera today. The Nikon COOLPIX A is the first COOLPIX to incorporate a DX-format sensor, similar to those found in many of Nikon’s coveted D-SLRs, which provides the highest image quality possible from a compact point-and-shoot. The Coolpix A fits a 16MP APS-C CMOS sensor with no optical low-pass filter behind a 28mm equivalent, F2.8 prime lens.
