Sony has just officially announced the new Sony FE 70-200mm F2.8 GM OSS II lens. It is an evolved and improved telephoto zoom lens for professionals. It is 30% lighter than its predecessor but boasts performance improvements in every area of operation. This addition to the G Master series delivers increase sharpness with a minimum of aberrations with an optical design that includes an XA element, an aspherical element, two extra-low dispersion aspherical elements, two extra-low dispersion elements, and two Super ED elements. This optical design aslo features Sony’s latest generation Nano AR II Coating that reduces reflections, flare, and ghosting for improved contrast and color. Panasonic has just officially announced the new Panasonic Lumix BS1H. It is a modular digital cinema camera with a small form-factor that bellies its full-frame sensor. It features a 24.2MP sensor, a Leica L lens mount, and a wide 14+-stop dynamic range to accommodate extreme lighting changes when recording in V-Log. It records video with resolutions up to 5.9K as well as C4K (4096 x 2160) and UHD4K, and it incorporates VariCam Look workflows.
