Nikon D400, new Nikon 1 and two lenses to be announced this Fall

A new wave of Nikon porduct announcements is coming soon, probably in August/September.

The rumored products are:

  • Nikon D400 (60% probability rated by NR)
  • New Nikon 1 mirrorless cameras (Nikon 1 J4/Nikon 1 V3). (Most likely to come)
  • a new 300mm f/4 lens
  • a new DX zoom lens (Probably as a kit lens for Nikon D400)
  • And the Nikon D4X release date is set in late 2013/early 2014.

        1. Actually, the D600 is more of a direct replacement for the D700. The D800 is it’s own beast all together.

  1. Sadly, neither is a replacement for the D700 and that is why I haven’t bought a new camera yet. What I was hoping for from Nikon was the D800 to be a D4 lite the same way the D700 was in relation to the D3. I personally don’t need 36 megapixels, and the file sizes created are ungodly. The D600 has great resolution, but the flash sync speed, the less than adequate autofocus coverage and the consumer grade body nixes it as well. The D400 will, if it ever gets made, will be the closest camera spes to my needs even if it is a DX. Just can’t get the camera I want: an updated D700.
