And specs of GoPro HERO8 Black from Winfuture:
The GoPro Hero8 Black is a further enhanced edition of the world’s most popular action camera in the market. Like its predecessor, it has a 12-megapixel sensor that can record 4K video at up to 60 frames per second (FPS), but can also work at 1080p resolution with up to 240 FPS if desired, thus slowing down the process. Allow motion shots. Even photos are possible with the Hero 8, where also 12 megapixel resolution are available.
The user can record on request in “Raw”, time-wrap, slow motion and a special night mode, including the live streaming to YouTubeand other platforms. As before, GoPro integrates Wi-Fi support for it. The camera also has the new HyperSmooth 2.0 image stabilizer to allow even in extreme situations, a possible wobble-free recording. As usual, the Hero 8 Black of course has a very wide-angle optics.
Operation is via a size-unchanged display, which should be sufficient for most situations with two inches and can be operated by touch. Recordings are possible in H.264 / AVC and H.265 / HVEC and there are both a number of integrated microphones with functions to suppress wind noise as well as a loudspeaker. A GPS module is also on board as a USB-C port for power and the connection to the PC. The maximum size of supported memory cards is 128 gigabytes.
The size of the GoPro Hero 8 Black does not change anything, but with a width of 63 millimeters and a height of 45 millimeters and a thickness of 33 millimeters, the device is basically the same size as its predecessor. The weight remains the same with 116 grams. The battery is the same as the Hero 7 Black and offers with 1220mAh according to a data sheet with 1.5 hours average duration. It can be powered by the well-known dual-charger with which the user can use two batteries.
A special feature of the new GoPro Hero 8 Black are the hinged mounting plates integrated at the bottom of the camera. These are simply folded down as needed and allow a direct connection with the abundant available accessories. The flap for battery and memory card therefore moves to the right edge of the case and can be re-ordered by the user as before from the accessories and easily replaced. GoPro continues to provide water resistance to a depth of 10 meters.
GoPro Light Mod
Speaking of accessories: the GoPro Hero8 Black gets with the so-called Media Module donated a new accessory housing, which can be used for attachment of external devices. This also includes a so-called GoPro Light Mod, which is basically just a small LED lamp with 10 LED lights, which can obviously be plugged into the attached on the Media Module hot shoe slots. On request, two LED lamps can be docked to the GoPro camera. The Media Module itself apparently has a powerful external microphone and should provide better sound quality when used for vlogging or interview purposes.
For the GoPro Hero 8 Black, the manufacturer also reissues the so-called “Floaty”, which is designed to prevent the camera from sinking in the water. Instead of attaching the buoyancy aid from the outside to the camera, it now comes in the form of an overcoat, which on the one hand offers better protection against knocks and bumps, but on the other hand just avoids the sinking of the action cam.
Incidentally, in addition to the replacement flaps already mentioned, GoPro will also be offering mounting plates called “Folding Fingers” as a commercially available accessory. The same applies to the external coverage of the lenses, so that the customer can quickly remedy any damage without having to invest in a new camera.
In the meantime, the new GoPro Hero 8 Black action cam will not be particularly cheap. First traders speak of prices just below 470 euros, although this is not a secure indication of the official price recommendation.
