Nikon has announced the new COOLPIX L830 34x superzoom point and shoot camera. COOLPIX L830 is the successor of COOLPIX L820 announced last year. It’s equipped with a 16 megapixel BSI-CMOS sensor and a tilting 3.0-inch 921k-dot LCD. The L830 records full HD 1080p video with new Hybrid Vibration Reduction stabilization available while recording video.

Update: Nikon D4S images now available.
Nikon has announced the development of Nikon D4S, like the D4, it describes as an ‘HD-SLR.’ Details are extremely slight, with the company promising a new image-processing engine and improved autofocus performance. All further details, including price and announcement and availability dates will follow later. The camera will be on display at the CES trade show, so we’ll try to get some pictures of it, as soon as we can.
Sony has announced the a5000, a mirrorless camera that features a 20.1MP APS-C CMOS sensor, Bionz X processor, and built-in Wi-Fi. Sony bills the a5000 as ‘the world’s lightest interchangeable lens camera’ because it weighs 210g (7.4 oz.) without battery, card, or lens.

Canon has just announced the PowerShot N100, which it’s branding as a ‘Story Camera’. The main feature that gives the camera this moniker is its rear-facing 25mm equiv. camera, which can take a photo or video of the photographer at the moment the shutter release is pressed (this works for stills and video, as well). The image from the rear-camera then put into one of the corners of the actual image/video that was taken. The N100’s ‘Story Highlights’ feature can put together a video montage of recent events.
