A Professional landscape photographer and Cameraegg reader Nicky Taylor send us a email about the Nikon D800E. He find that D800E is currently removed from Nikon USA’s page, see the pic below:
The D800E is still in stock at Amazon.com. Here is what the Nicky said:
Ok so for those of you who read my last post know I was in the market
for a new camera. I was undecided with the D800e (version) or a DMFAfter the LONG discussion in the thread I decided to go for the Nikon.
I have just got off the phone with them asking where I can find it in
stock, as I want to buy it ASAP for a trip next month. You can imagine
my shock when he turn around and says, “The d800e no longer supported
by Nikon” AKA they are not going to stock or make anymore.Either I missed a HUGE news blast about this or they have kept that
one very quiet. Anyone else heard about this? I phoned the Nikon USA Number
+18006456689.Back to stage one but now I have sold all my canon gear ready to buy
my new camera so is now WITHOUT a camera for the first time in 15
years……Also NOTE –

back in the market for a camera

Hey, there has never been a micro site or a place for the d800E on the camera strip, only at the bottom of the d800 (the regular one) it says:”… d800 or d800E which one is for me…” or something like that.

PS. I love how there’s an ad to purchase a D800E at the top of this article. 😉
Click on the D800 link and scroll down both cameras are explained in detail and compared..
I just purchased the D600 and very pleased with it. I would go with that one, full frame.
Just a idea. Both DX and FX lenses work with the 600. Also the Zeiss lenses are very good but manual focus.
I have the 50mm, 60 mm and 18 to 35mm lens. Looking to get a medium focus from 70 to 200mm next.
The quality is excellent, I also have a Leica M9-P just to let you know what I am comparing it to.
