Tokina has just officially announced the new Tokina atx-i 11-20mm F2.8 CF lens for Canon EF and Nikon F mounts. It will start shipping from July 10, 2020 for JPY 73,000 (excluding tax).
You can equip it with new software to support the ever-evolving DSLR camera. For Nikon F, use Nikon’s “Nikon mount adapter FTZ” for Z50, and for Canon EF, use Canon’s “Canon mount adapter EF-EOS-M” for EF-M mount mirrorless camera.
A new design with the same concept as Tokina’s new generation high-end lens “opera” that matches the latest DSLR is adopted. The rubber patterns on the focus ring and zoom ring are also designed to match the latest trends.
By applying WR coating (coating with excellent water and oil repellency) to the front of the lens, you can easily wipe off not only water drops but also fingerprints and sebum stains.
Tokina’s original P-MO aspherical lens is placed in the front group, and a glass mold aspherical lens is placed in the rear group to ideally correct distortion and other aberrations. In addition, 3 pieces of SD glass (2 pieces of FK01 and 1 piece of FK03) are used. Efforts are made to eliminate chromatic aberration.
The DC drive and the gear unit are integrally molded and the sealed structure “SD-M” improves the quietness of the AF drive sound. In addition, the GMR sensor (high-precision magnetic sensor), which has high resolution and high detection accuracy, realizes quick AF speed.
