- Canon shared the top 4 models and Sony with 4 models. Nikon follows in third place with two models. Looking at the top 20, Sony has 9 models, Canon has 7 models, and Nikon has 3 models. While the three companies are competing fiercely, the OM SYSTEM “OM-1” body is the only one ranked in the 12th place, making its presence shine.
- Sony a7 IV body (released in December 2021) is ranked first in the 2022 annual ranking. It’s a big leap from 11th in the 2021 annual ranking.
- The second place in the annual ranking is the Canon EOS R5 body (released in July 2020). Although it was ranked first in the 2021 annual ranking, it peaked at second in the 2022 single-lens ranking. Canon EOS R3 was in the top 10 only six times, partly due to supply shortages.
- The 3rd place in the annual ranking is the Nikon Z9 body. In 2022, it was number one in the SLR ranking four times, and although it was often out of the ranking, it came in third in the annual ranking. Another Nikon model that entered the top 10 is the “Z fc 16-50 VR SL Lens Kit”. It is the only APS-C size machine in the top 10 of the annual ranking.
