Canon has announced financial results for the third quarter of 2022 in Japan. Due to the strong saled of Canon EOS R7 and Canon EOS R10, Canon’s camera business in Q3 2022 will see a significant increase in sales in Japan.

Highlights of 3Q 2022 results: In the first half, we continued to be unable to supply enough products to meet demand, but in the third quarter, we will make further progress with design changes and procurement of substitutes, and will produce roughly as planned. The depreciation of the yen also boosted sales, which increased 19.5% year-on-year to 996.1 billion yen, marking the seventh consecutive quarter of sales growth.r10
Operating income increased by 38.7% to 81.4 billion yen, up 38.7% year-on-year, due to the increase in sales volume and the effect of the weaker yen, as well as part of the increase in material and distribution costs reflected in the sales price.
