Fujifilm X100VI to Have 40MP Sensor?

the current Fujifilm X100 V (Amazon/ B&H/ Adorama)

According to reliable and new sources, Fujifilm will use a 40-megapixel X-Trans V sensor in the upcoming Fujifilm X100VI. Higher resolution allows for larger cropping, giving the fixed lens X100 series a little more flexibility.

Of course, this assumes that the X100VI’s lens can resolve 40 megapixels, but the lens is fairly new and has been refreshed in the X100V, so if this lens can’t bring out the power of the 40 megapixel sensor, then we don’t think Fujifilm X100VI will use a 40 million pixel sensor.

Also, since Fujifilm X100VI lens is the same as the current Fujifilm X100V, Fujifilm’s conversion lenses WCL-X100 and TCL-X100 can also be used with the X100VI.

The adoption of a 40-megapixel sensor is likely to be a major selling point for Fujifilm X100VI. Since the lens has been renewed with the X100V, it seems likely that the design will take into account support for 40 million pixel sensors in future models. We are a little concerned about the image stabilization. With 40 million pixels, if the conditions get worse without image stabilization, camera shake will become an issue.

Isn’t it equipped with IBIS?
