According to CR, a new RF 70-200mm F2.8 L IS USM with inner zoom is scheduled to be released in 2024.
The introduction of the new 70-200mm F2.8 makes a lot of sense, but we don’t know if it will become a (current) version II or if it will be added to the current lineup. We think there are many people who like the compactness of the current Canon RF 70-200mm F2.8L IS USM, and the new model may give these users more options.
From a business perspective, the release of the new inner zoom 70-200mm F2.8 lens will probably help sell teleconverters a little more.
