According to Nikon Rumors, the upcoming Zeiss Otus ML 35mm f/1.4 lens will be priced at $2,299 in the US and is expected to start shipping in spring 2026. The lens will be available in Sony E-mount, Canon RF-mount, and Nikon Z-mount.
This is the second lens in the Otus ML mirrorless series, following the 50mm f/1.4 that currently sells for around $2,262 at B&H. The pricing is consistent across the lineup and much more accessible than the original DSLR-era Otus lenses, which ran well over $4,000.
The 35mm f/1.4 uses an apochromatic design to minimize distortion and chromatic aberration. Zeiss promises their signature look — faithful colors, sharp micro-contrast, and soft harmonious bokeh. Even wide open at f/1.4, the lens is said to resolve extremely fine details and textures. T* coating handles color reproduction and flare control.
Like the 50mm, this is a manual focus lens with a grooved metal focus ring. Zeiss emphasizes the tactile experience — the combination of mechanism, torque, and rotation angle is tuned for precise focus pulling. Three mount options (E, RF, Z) means most mirrorless shooters can get in on this one.
