Insta360 CEO Liu Jingkang has officially confirmed the company’s first pocket gimbal camera at the annual meeting. Named “Luna,” this dual-lens handheld camera is set to launch in the first half of 2026 and will directly compete with the upcoming DJI Osmo Pocket 4.

The Luna represents Insta360’s bold entry into the pocket gimbal camera market that DJI has dominated for years. Unlike the standard single-camera pocket gimbals, the Luna features a dual-camera setup and a modular design where the camera unit can be separated from the gimbal for standalone use.

A recently leaked teaser video demonstrates the Luna’s impressive background blur and portrait depth capabilities, suggesting the dual-lens system combined with AI processing can deliver results comparable to larger sensor cameras. The footage shows smooth stabilization and high-quality 4K output.
The Luna’s dual-lens design gives it a potential edge over the standard DJI Osmo Pocket 4, which is expected to ship with a single camera module. DJI’s Pocket 4 Pro variant with dual cameras is rumored for later in 2026, which would be a more direct competitor.
With Insta360’s established ecosystem of wireless microphones and 360 cameras, the Luna should integrate seamlessly with existing Insta360 accessories. Pricing between $499-$699 would position it competitively against DJI’s offerings.
Stay tuned for official pricing and availability details.
