According to the latest rumors from CR1, Canon will announce at least three APS-C equipped RF mount cameras named Canon EOS R7, Canon EOS R8 and Canon EOS R9 in the future. This could be the death knell for Canon EOS M system.
The first is Canon EOS R7. It will be announced as early as the fourth quarter of this year, or in the first quarter of 2022.
The second APS-C camera will be Canon EOS R8, which is designed for buoy loggers and other social media creators.
The third APS-C camera will Canon EOS R9, which will be the entry model for Canon EOS R system.
If this information is true, Canon EOS M system will definitely come to an end. Canon EOS M system has some models that have sold quite well in the last few years, so we need to keep those customers. Keeping Canon EOS M and EOS R alive may not make sense from an economic point of view.
Canon EF-M lens doesn’t support RF mounts, but there is a solution to this problem. The credibility of these rumors is CR1, so please treat them accordingly.
