According to SAR, Sony will announce the new FE 20-70mm F4.0 G lens on January 17th.
The price will be around $1,600, which is nearly double the price of the Zeiss T* FE 24-70mm F4.0 ZA. However, Sony’s new lens will be the world’s first standard zoom with a wide-angle end of 20mm. The image quality of this lens is very high and it is definitely a big improvement compared to the Zeiss 24-70mm F4.
No information about other products is available, but it is quite possible that in February there will be an announcement of the FE 16-35mm F2.8 II GM, and possibly a new camera as well.
