After first D800 firmware update which fixed lockup issue, now Nikon is expected to release a second D800 firmware update maybe in this week.
You may read some of the potential fixes below:
- Nikon Japan acknowledged the D800 wireless flash trigger problem and offered a work around – this usually means that a fix will be provided with the next firmware update.
- There are some rumors that Nikon may also provide a fix for the green cast present in the D4/D800 LCD screen and will reset the color profile to look like the D700/D3s.
- Some focusing issue on Nikon D800/E. Nikon has not yet recognized this as a bug. Here is video with detailed testing describing the problem:

so the longer I wait for mine to arrive… does that mean the better my chances of getting a camera with all the bugs fixed?
pretty much.. but why wait that long ? mine has no issues.. but its one of the very early serial numbers.

that sucks.. you know something.. i ordered it back in feb. too.. but i couldnt wait any longer.. i mean i would of missed spring and summer.. so i bought one on ebay for 500 dollars more. you will absolutely love this camera.. but make sure you buy a high end lens.. 24-70 2.8 is a great lens. the low light capability is great considering it has 36mp.. dont use windows picture viewer to look at the photos.. its horrible. i would download the free viewer fullscreen picture viewer. its awesome.. everything looks sharp. good luck 🙂
