Canon recently has filed a new lens patent on EF 35mm f/2 IS II USM lens, to replace current EF 35mm f/2 IS USM lens.
According to PhotographyBay, the new lens patent was filed on March 31, 2015. The new lens is 104.5mm long, a bit longer than current version 62.6mm.
