Confirmed: Sony a7 V to be Announced on December 2nd !

Sony is poised to unveil its highly anticipated Alpha 7 V camera (Amazon, B&H Photo Video, Adorama) on December 2nd, generating considerable buzz among photography enthusiasts. Teasers have already appeared, with Sony posting an image on the official Sony Alpha Instagram account hinting at the new camera. The image displays the tagline “Chase your dream” alongside the announcement date and a prominent “V,” strongly suggesting the arrival of the Alpha 7 V as the successor to the Alpha 7 IV.

Rumors surrounding the a7 V suggest significant upgrades, particularly in processing speed and AI-powered features. Leaks point to a new 33MP partially stacked sensor designed by Sony, enabling faster readout speeds and improved performance. This enhancement is expected to facilitate 30fps continuous shooting with the electronic shutter and 4K video recording at 60fps using the full sensor width. The camera is also rumored to record 4k120p with a crop.

Beyond the sensor, the a7 V is expected to inherit the same body design as the Sony A7rV, featuring a free-angle tilting 3.2″ Touchscreen LCD. Other rumored specifications include 8 stops of IBIS, an improved EVF, dual USB-C ports, and a combined SD/CFexpress Type A card slot. The price is expected to be around $3000.

With the official announcement just around the corner, photographers and videographers eagerly await confirmation of these rumored features and the opportunity to experience the next evolution in Sony’s acclaimed Alpha 7 series. Pre-orders are expected to open on December 2nd.
