After Canon EOS R1 and Canon EOS R5 Mark II were officially announced, Canon will soon announce the other camera: Canon EOS R6 Mark III!
Although early spec information is often inconsistent, Canon EOS R6 Mark III is said to be almost complete. Below are the rumored EOS R6 Mark III specs from CR.
- 24MP
- Mechanical shutter / electronic shutter
- No information on still burst speed
- Improved DIGIC X, no DIGIC accelerator
- CFexpress & SD UHS-II card slot
- 4K120p, Full HD240p
- Same EVF as EOS R5 (no eye tracking)
- Improved IBIS performance
- Improved AF sensitivity
- Body will be a little heavier (not noticeable)
- 3-inch LCD monitor (resolution unknown)
- No information on AF function
If the EOS R6 Mark III is announced in late 2024, it is expected to be released in early 2025.
If the rumors are correct, the EOS R6 Mark III’s sensor will be stacked, but it will not be the same as Canon EOS R3’s sensor, so will it be a downgraded version? Canon EOS R6 II is likely to have improved performance overall, but it does not have a DIGIC accelerator, so this will likely be an area in which it will be clearly differentiated from higher-end models.
