According to CR, Canon will announce new C300 Mark III and XC15 successor in the first half of 2018, likely at the NAB Show in 2018. The new XC15 successor is likely to have EF mount, and below are rumored specs of C300 Mark III:

- Highest dynamic range of any Canon Cinema camera.
- 180fps @ 2K
- 60fps @ 4K
- Internal RAW
- Pricing higher than C300 Mark II at launch.
