The price for 7D Mark II Body Only will be between $1,500 – $2,000, and the lens kit will be $2,000 – $2,500.

What an underwhelming announcement. Nikon, Sony, Fuji, Pentax and even Olympus execs must be laughing at this “big” Canon announcement.
the NX1 looks like the specs the 7D should have.
canon needs to innovate again.

i’m disappointed by this announcement. Only 20,2 mp resolution. I expected 24 mp and the same picture quality like Nikon, Sony and so on. So I will have to consider and calculate a change to Nikon

That’s not really the question for me. Picture agencies expect a.minimum resolution and that follows the market trends.the higher the resolution ( very good picture motive preset) the better the possibility to get approved. In addition especially the Nikon cameras show that higher resolutions also allow a high quality at lower light.
I cannot say I agree. I’ve been shooting stock for a while with 5d mk2, and all agencies have minimum resolution under 10mp. 24 vs 20 makes no difference, I’m over 90% approval rate on most of them, and rarely is image rejected based on quality.
Well, it’s a vast improvement over the mki version, 10fps as opposed to 8, the new digic 6 processor, new sensor, more focusing points, internal intervelometer which i am surprised about because Canon may have shot themselves in the foot on Intervelometer sales, 20mega pixels is more than enough for any camera. the 1DX only has 18mega pixels but that is a phenomenal camera and I know of many Nikon users changing to Canon for that camera. 100% coverage on OVF is a big improvement over the 98% mki has. There are lots of improvements on an already amazing camera, not an easy one to upgrade near perfection. I say well done Canon.
