Canon 700D / Rebel T5i Specs Rumors

Just after rumors said Canon will making a new small DSLR line, CanonWatch just got a specs list on this new DSLR, from the specs list, it seem this camera could be the successor of Canon EOS 650D.

Rumored specs:

  • 18MP sensor (same sensor featured on the EOS M and EOS 650D)
  • DIGIC 5
  • Touchscreen similar to the EOS M
  • 9 focusing points
  • A new hybrid CMOS auto-focus
  • 98% viewfinder
  • 6fps
  • ISO up to 25,600
  • EF and EF-S lens support
  • HD video

The release date could be as soon as Canon 70D on March 22, or maybe later in June.

  1. I do not see any difference from T4i apart from 6fps- Nikon is getting miles ahead of them with D5200

  2. It’d be a shame, if these facts would be true. Although it’d be a solid performer these specs are ridculous! I mean 9 focus points?? For me it’d be more usefull to update the basic specs, instead of adding new, pretty useless features. It’s for me the same problem as with the 6D, it’s more like a “hipster” camera than a enthusiast/semi pro camera. Hopfully these specs are wrong!

  3. Same sensor as 650d – as 600d – as 550d – since 2009?? Can’t be true. If the 5ti sensor won’t beat the nikon d5200 sensor then no feature can prevent me to swap to nikon.

  4. the 650d and 700d have different sensors than the 600d and 550d. the 650d and 700d have an 18 megapixel hybrid cmos sensors while the 600d and 550d have an 18 megapixel hybrid cmos sensor.
