Nikon Full Frame Mirrorless Specs, to be Announced in Late 2015

According to recently rumors on NR, Nikon is currently working on the rumored Nikon Full Frame mirrorless camera. This Nikon FF mirrorless will announced in late 2015 to early 2016. Nikon has already filed a patent for a 28-80mm f/3.5-5.6 VR full frame mirrorless lens.

Nikon FF mirrorless features & specs:

  • full frame camera
  • mirrorless / mirrorless-styled
  • the camera will be small (about the same size as the Olympus E-M1)
  • no EVF
  • regular F mount
  • currently being field tested
  • the official announcement is expected in late 2015 or early 2016

  1. I don’t know if this is true (may be it is). Anyway, that part of “regular F mount” is very suspicious… Regular F mount flange distance makes the cameras big. You have to respect the distance from the mount to the sensor, and this is bigger than most mirrorless cameras *in full*. Anyway, we’ll see…

  2. How on earth do they expect to get even close to the Sony A7 with this thing? What makes the A7 a winning proposition in my view is the outstanding EVF and the fact that you can adapt just about any lens to it. If neither of these applies the the NIKON – why bother?
