According to Japan patent website EGAMI, Canon filed a new lens patent for Canon APS-C DSLR cameras. This lens is Canon EF-S 9-22mm f/4.5-5.6 STM lens.
Canon has already announced a similar lens: EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM lens. This 9-22mm lens will have a longer zoom range than 10-18mm.
