According L-Rumors, Panasonic will announce the new Panasonic LUMIS S 100mm F2.8 macro lens on January 8th.
Panasonic has confirmed that it will announce the 100mm F2.8 macro on January 8th. Below is some information about this lens.
- Lightest 100mm Full Frame macro in it’s class
- Comes with two switches: One for AF-MF and one for the focus range (macro, from 50cm or full).
- Close focus distance is 0,204m (20,4cm)
So far, we have no information regarding other products that will be announced on January 8th. Recent macro lenses tend to become larger and heavier as they improve in functionality and performance, but this lens is the lightest in its class as a 100mm macro lens, so you can expect a lens that is easy to handle.
Also, I’m concerned that the minimum shooting distance is approximately 20cm, which is quite short for a 100mm macro lens, and the maximum shooting magnification may be higher than 1x.
