Nikon Japan has just filed a new patent about the 100x optical zoom range for Nikon 1/2.3″ sensor compact camera. The Nikon COOLPIX P900 (Amazon | B&H | Adorama) super zoom compact camera has 83x (24-2000mm) optical zoom range, announced last year. Seems next COOLPIX P4000 (According previous rumors) will have 100x zoom.
