According to a trusted source from CanonRumors, Canon will soon announce a new 50mm lens in the next few weeks.
Currently there is no detail if this 50mm lens will be f/1.4 version or f/1.2 version. The old EF 50mm f/1.4 USM lens is 30+ years old, and there is a lot rumors talking about this lens, the EF 50mm f/1.2L lens could use an update as well and would really benefit from a floating element design.
