The Zeiss 135mm f/2 Apo Sonnar T* lens is a new lens from Carl Zeiss. Dr. Richard Roscoe, volcano and wildlife photographer, used this new Apo Sonnar T* 1/135 to shoot the famous Sakurajima Volcano in Japan. He posted several sample images on Flickr.

From exif data, we find these photos are taken with a 5D Mark II and Zeiss 135mm f/2 Apo Sonnar T* ZE Lens.

  1. I do wonder what will this lens can do on my 175MP sensor?. The 175MP full frame 35mm sensor is free of problems such as poor micro-contrast, wrong ISO, wrong light Temp, poor saturation, and needs no PP.

    Digits don’t even come close to this great invention.

    The results from this 35mm sensor can be projected onto a commercoial cinema screen! The sensor is Velvia 50.
    Sorry not yet on digits,so I await a film sample/s.
