The Nikon Z5 II already has 5-axis in-body VR (up to 7.5 stops with compatible Z glass). A gimbal is for walking, vehicles, and low mode — not because the body is a 24.5 MP “shaky” camera. Nikon’s sheet: 700 g with battery and card, 134 × 100.5 × 72 mm, 1/4-inch ISO 1222 socket….
The Nikon Z9 records 8K and N-RAW through the same analog hole every other Z body uses: a 3.5 mm stereo mini-pin jack with switchable plug-in power. The accessory shoe is ISO 518 with sync and data contacts for flash — not the Nikon multi-accessory digital-audio shoe on the ZR, and not Sony’s MI shoe….
The original Z50 had no headphone jack. The Z50 II adds one (shared with the MC-DC3), plug-in power on the mic jack, and 24-bit PCM in MOV. No digital shoe. VideoMic GO II Helix is Overall on this DX body. DJI Mic Mini 2 is Value for walk-and-talk. VideoMicro II is Budget.
The Z5 II is analog 3.5 mm with plug-in power, 24-bit PCM in MOV/NEV, and a headphone jack that also takes an MC-DC3. No digital shoe. VideoMic NTG is Overall. DJI Mic Mini 2 camera kit is Value for walk-and-talk. VideoMic GO II Helix is Budget plug-in power.
The Z8 has radio AWL and unified flash control, but radio remotes still need a WR-R11a on the 10-pin. SB-5000 is Overall with that stack. Godox V1Pro N is Value if you will not buy the WR dongle. TT685II-N is Budget TTL+HSS+radio.
The Z5 II has no pop-up, syncs flash at 1/200 s, and Nikon leaves radio AWL blank. Off-camera radio on this body is a Godox 2.4 GHz N-mount: V1Pro N overall, V1-N for the same round head without SU-1, TT685II-N on AAs.
At 3000 mm the P1100 needs a DF-M1, not a generic carbon tripod kit. ML-L7 for shutter and Fn, Wasabi EN-EL20a spares because CIPA is 260 shots. V30 UHS-I for 4K; hood and cap are already in the box.
