Why it fits the Nikon ZR. The camera mounts on the 1/4-inch socket Nikon prints, ISO 1222. DJI’s 3 kg tested payload is more than twice the 1130 g of the ZR with battery and card plus the 24-70mm f/4 S. DJI USA also says the tilt axis was extended by 8.5 mm for mainstream mirrorless cameras and extra accessories. The ZR’s own depth on the consumer page is about 49 mm, and the monitor is 4.0 inches and moves, so the arm still has to clear that screen. This page does not claim a measured clearance, and it does not claim the RS 4 starts or stops the ZR. DJI’s spec page was not used here as a camera-control list for this body.

Why it fits the Nikon ZR. The body’s 630 g operating weight is above the Mini’s 0.4 kg minimum, so the camera is not under the tested range before the lens goes on. With the 500 g zoom the total is 1130 g, which is under 2 kg. The gimbal DJI weighs, about 890 g with the plate, is lighter than the RS 4’s 1066 g gimbal figure and lighter than the Weebill’s 1054.8 g body-without-plate figure. Those three weights are not on the same parts list: DJI includes the plate in the Mini’s 890 g, and Zhiyun excludes the plate from 1054.8 g. The price gap with the RS 4 is $160 at the two DJI listings used here.
Buy the Mini when the camera, the EN-EL15c, a card, and the 24-70mm f/4 are the whole load. Why it fits the Nikon ZR. Three kilograms is the same payload class as the RS 4, and $271 is $38 under the Mini’s $309 and $198 under the RS 4’s $469. The 1130 g pair fits. Zhiyun says compatibility varies by camera and that the official list is the check. This article does not claim the ZR is on that list. The mount that is printed on the camera is the 1/4-inch socket. The fill light is a 2600K–5500K lamp on the gimbal, not a Nikon accessory.
Buy it when the store price is the point and you can carry the gimbal. The 1054.8 g figure leaves out the plate, so the ready weight is higher than 1054.8 g. If You Need Something Else
A gimbal whose tested payload stops below 1130 g does not clear this body plus the 24-70mm f/4 S. The 540 g body-only line is the wrong number for that check: Nikon’s operating weight, with the battery and a card, is about 630 g before the lens. The 4.0-inch monitor folds out, and a cage is further weight. HDMI on this camera is Type D, so a full-size HDMI plug is the wrong connector if a monitor is added on the rig.

Nikon’s consumer page lists both. About 540 g is the body only. About 630 g includes the battery and a memory card and excludes the body cap and the shoe cover. A gimbal carries the camera you are shooting with, so the 630 g line is the one added to the lens.
What the 24-70mm f/4 adds
Nikon lists that lens at about 500 g, with a maximum diameter of about 77.5 mm and a length of about 88.5 mm from the flange. 630 plus 500 is 1130 g. A different Z lens changes the sum. The HB-85 hood is a supplied accessory on that lens page and is not inside the 500 g line used here.
Whether these gimbals are listed for the ZR
DJI’s payload pages and Zhiyun’s store page were used for weight and payload. They were not used as a compatibility list that names the ZR. The mechanical mount is the camera’s 1/4-inch socket. Record, autofocus, and zoom from the gimbal are not claimed here.
