Best MacBook Pro Deals at Amazon Prime Big Deal Days 2026
Summary: Prime Big Deal Days 2026 runs October 6–7. Amazon’s September 14 announcement set those dates and did not publish MacBook Pro prices. The five machines below are the current Apple starting configurations, with Apple’s own U.S. list prices as the reference. Open the 14-inch M5 Pro first. If that price does not move, the 14-inch M5 is the lower list. Read the chip and the SSD on the Amazon page before you check out. A “MacBook Pro” tile can be Thunderbolt 4 or Thunderbolt 5.

14-inch MacBook Pro (M5 Pro)
🎯 Why it is the best deal: It is the current 14-inch pro start, at Apple’s $2,199 U.S. list, with Thunderbolt 5 and 24GB. That is the configuration to open on October 6.
Apple Support lists the 14-inch M5 Pro memory line as 24GB and the storage line as 1TB or 2TB. The 15-core CPU (5 super cores and 10 performance cores) and 16-core GPU are on the chip block; the 18-core CPU and 20-core GPU are the configure option. The 15-core box includes a 70W USB-C adapter. The 18-core box includes 96W. Both share 307GB/s memory bandwidth, three Thunderbolt 5 ports at up to 120Gb/s, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 6 on the N1 chip. The panel is a 14.2-inch Liquid Retina XDR, 3024 by 1964, ProMotion up to 120Hz, 1000 nits sustained full-screen and 1600 nits peak for HDR. Weight for an M5 Pro 14-inch is 3.5 pounds (1.60 kg). The published video-streaming figure, up to 22 hours, was measured on an 18-core, 20-core GPU, 24GB, 2TB system, not on every start unit.
- 24GB unified memory on the M5 Pro line
- 1TB on the storage line, before the 2TB or 4TB options
- Three Thunderbolt 5 ports, not the Thunderbolt 4 ports on the plain M5
- 70W adapter in the 15-core box; 96W in the 18-core box
16-inch MacBook Pro (M5 Pro)
💰 Why it is the best value: Five hundred dollars over the 14-inch M5 Pro list buys the 16.2-inch panel and the only 16-inch M5 Pro chip, an 18-core CPU with a 20-core GPU. It is still $900 under the 14-inch M5 Max list.
Apple’s March 3, 2026 release lists this model from $2,699. Apple Support gives it one M5 Pro: 18-core CPU (6 super cores and 12 performance cores), 20-core GPU, 307GB/s, 24GB unified memory, and a 1TB SSD, with 2TB or 4TB as configure options. There is no 15-core version on this size. The display is 16.2 inches, 3456 by 2234, at the same 1000-nit sustained and 1600-nit HDR peak figures. Three Thunderbolt 5 ports at up to 120Gb/s, an HDMI port, an SDXC slot, and MagSafe 3. The box includes a 140W USB-C adapter. The battery line is 100 watt-hours, with an actual rating of 99.6 watt-hours. Up to 24 hours of video streaming was measured on an 18-core, 20-core GPU, 48GB, 1TB system. Weight is 4.7 pounds (2.14 kg).
- 18-core CPU and 20-core GPU, not the 14-inch 15-core start
- 24GB and 1TB on the standard lines
- 16.2-inch 3456-by-2234 Liquid Retina XDR
- 140W adapter; fast charge on this size is listed with a 140W or higher USB-PD source
16-inch MacBook Pro (M5 Max)
👑 Why it is the premium pick: It is the top of Apple’s March 2026 list, at $3,899, with a 2TB SSD standard and a 36GB memory line. The 40-core GPU is a configure option, not this start.
Apple Support’s 16-inch Max memory line starts at 36GB. The 48GB, 64GB, and 128GB steps are tied to the 40-core GPU. Storage starts at 2TB, then 4TB or 8TB. The configure list treats the 40-core GPU (614GB/s) as the step up from the 32-core GPU at 460GB/s. The CPU line is an 18-core part with 6 super cores and 12 performance cores. The media block lists two video encode engines and two ProRes encode and decode engines. External displays go to four. The chassis is 0.66 by 14.01 by 9.77 inches and 4.7 pounds (2.15 kg). Up to 22 hours of video streaming was measured on an 18-core, 32-core GPU, 36GB, 2TB system. The adapter in the box is 140W.
- 36GB and 2TB on the starting Max lines
- 32-core GPU at 460GB/s before the 40-core option
- Four external displays, against three on M5 Pro
- 2.15 kg, against 1.62 kg for the 14-inch M5 Max
14-inch MacBook Pro (M5)
💵 Why it is the budget pick: It is the lowest current Apple list in this roundup, $1,699, after the March 3, 2026 note that 1TB is now standard. It is not a Thunderbolt 5 machine.
Apple’s October 2025 release started this model at $1,599 with 16GB of starting unified memory. The March 3, 2026 release says it now comes standard with 1TB and starts at $1,699. Apple Support still lists a 512GB line next to 1TB, and lists memory as 16GB, 24GB, or 32GB, configurable to 24GB or 32GB. Match both numbers on the Amazon tile. The chip on that support page is a 10-core CPU (4 super cores and 6 efficiency cores), a 10-core GPU, a 16-core Neural Engine, and 153GB/s. Ports are three Thunderbolt 4 connectors at up to 40Gb/s, plus HDMI, SDXC, a headphone jack, and MagSafe 3. Wireless is Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3, not the N1 chip’s Wi-Fi 7. The included adapter is 70W. Weight is 3.4 pounds (1.55 kg). Up to 24 hours of video streaming was measured on a 10-core, 24GB, 1TB system. External displays stop at two.
- Apple list $1,699, with 1TB called standard in the March 2026 release
- 16GB is the starting memory from the October 2025 release
- Thunderbolt 4 at 40Gb/s, not Thunderbolt 5 at 120Gb/s
- The support sheet still shows a 512GB line — do not assume every tile is 1TB
14-inch MacBook Pro (M5 Max)
🎯 Why it is a hidden gem: The Max chip, 36GB, and a 2TB SSD fit in the 14-inch body at $3,599, which is $300 under the 16-inch Max list and about half a kilogram lighter.
Apple Support’s 14-inch Max block is an 18-core CPU, a 32-core GPU, and 460GB/s. The 40-core GPU at 614GB/s is the configure option. Memory starts at 36GB; 48GB, 64GB, and 128GB require the 40-core GPU. Storage starts at 2TB. The box for an M5 Max includes a 96W adapter, not the 70W adapter from the 15-core M5 Pro. Weight is 3.6 pounds (1.62 kg). It can drive up to four external displays, and the media engine lists two video encode engines. Up to 20 hours of video streaming was measured on an 18-core, 32-core GPU, 36GB, 2TB system, which matches this start. The panel is the same 14.2-inch 3024-by-1964 Liquid Retina XDR as the other 14-inch models.
- 36GB, 2TB, and a 32-core GPU at the $3,599 start
- 460GB/s, against 307GB/s on M5 Pro
- 3.6 pounds, against 4.7 pounds for the 16-inch Max
- Four external displays in the smaller chassis
💡 Prime Big Deal Days Savings Strategy: Get the Most Out of It
- The dates are already set. Amazon’s September 14, 2026 announcement puts Prime Big Deal Days on October 6–7, starting at 12:01 a.m. PDT on October 6 and ending at 11:59 p.m. PDT on October 7. That announcement did not publish these five Apple list prices as sale prices.
- Match the chip, not the screen size. A 14-inch tile can be an M5 with Thunderbolt 4, an M5 Pro with a 15-core CPU, or an M5 Max with 36GB and 2TB. A 16-inch M5 Pro is an 18-core CPU. The series name does not say which one is in the box.
- Set the alert on one configuration. About Amazon says Alexa for Shopping can watch a product or a category during this sale. Pick the 14-inch M5 Pro or the 14-inch M5, not “MacBook Pro.”
- The SSD line changed on the plain M5. March 3, 2026 says 1TB is now standard at $1,699. Apple Support still lists 512GB. A lower sticker on 512GB is a different machine.

October 6 and October 7. Amazon’s U.S. announcement starts the sale at 12:01 a.m. PDT on October 6 and ends it at 11:59 p.m. PDT on October 7. This is the fall event, not July Prime Day.
💻 Which 14-inch chip to open first
The 14-inch M5 Pro, Apple list $2,199. Apple Support puts 24GB and a 1TB storage line on that chip, with Thunderbolt 5. The plain 14-inch M5 is the $1,699 list, with Thunderbolt 4. They are not the same laptop.
🔌 Why Thunderbolt 4 and Thunderbolt 5 both appear
Apple Support lists three Thunderbolt 4 ports at up to 40Gb/s on the 14-inch M5. The 14- and 16-inch M5 Pro and M5 Max pages list three Thunderbolt 5 ports at up to 120Gb/s. A listing that only says “MacBook Pro” does not tell you which port you are buying.
🧠 What 36GB and 2TB belong to
Those starting lines are on the M5 Max, 14-inch and 16-inch. The M5 Pro starting memory line is 24GB, and its starting storage line is 1TB. The 40-core GPU and the 128GB option are configure steps on the Max, not the $3,599 or $3,899 start.
💲 Why this page has no sale price
Amazon’s September 14 announcement dated the event and did not publish these five laptop prices. Apple’s list prices above are from Apple’s March 3, 2026 release, plus the October 2025 note that the plain M5 starts at 16GB. Check the live Amazon page on October 6.
Conclusion
On October 6, open the 14-inch MacBook Pro (M5 Pro) first: Apple’s $2,199 list, 24GB, a 1TB storage line, and Thunderbolt 5. If that price does not move, the 14-inch MacBook Pro (M5) is the lower list at $1,699, with Thunderbolt 4 and a support sheet that still shows 512GB. The 16-inch M5 Pro is the 18-core, 20-core GPU step at $2,699. The 16-inch M5 Max is the $3,899 top, and the 14-inch M5 Max puts 36GB and 2TB in the smaller body at $3,599. Read the chip and the SSD on the Amazon page before you check out.
