Best Cooling Pad for ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14, G15, G16
The ROG Zephyrus G14, G15, and G16 pull intake air through the bottom of a slim chassis. An open-fan cooling pad leaks that air; a sealed turbo stand is the default. For most desks, that stand is the IETS GT600 V2.

How We Picked These Pads
- The laptop: Every current Zephyrus G14 and G16, and the last G15 (2022, replaced by the G16), takes cool air through the bottom and dumps heat at the rear and sides. ErgoLift raises the rear on a desk, which helps a little and still leaves the intakes starving on a flat mesh tray. UltrabookReview’s 2025 G16 (Ultra 9 285H / RTX 5070 Ti) ran Turbo at 85–88°C CPU and 82–85°C GPU sitting flat; lifting the rear about 5 cm dropped that to 78–82°C / 75–77°C. GamesRadar’s 2025 G16 sat at 86–91°C CPU in Turbo. Notebookcheck’s 2024 G16 peaked at 51.3°C on the bottom under load. Jarrod’s Tech’s 2022 G14 hit a 96°C CPU thermal limit until a cooling pad was added. Slim chassis, bottom intake, high TGP — that is the job.
- The pad type: IETS’s own GT600 brief is explicit: bottom intake vents, side/rear exhaust, 14.1–19.3″ chassis. V1 and V2 share a 5.5-inch fan at 2,800 RPM and 71.9 mmH2O; B0 is capped at 1,600 RPM / 47.3 mmH2O and has no hub. IGN’s cooling-pad roundup lists the GT600 V2 as a magnetic-foam turbo stand for 14–19.3″ laptops. The GT500 keeps the sealed-foam idea on a 13–17.3″ deck. llano’s V12 listing starts at 15.6″ — a G16 option, not a G14 default.
- What we will not recommend: Open multi-fan pads (KLIM Ultimate RGB, Havit HV-F2056, Thermaltake Massive 20). They blow at the chassis instead of sealing the intakes. Manufacturer 10–20°C marketing drops stay out of the verdict; independent laptop reviews above are the thermal evidence.
Best Cooling Pad for ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14, G15, G16: Detailed Reviews
IETS GT600 V2 View on Amazon
| Type | Sealed-chamber turbo stand |
|---|---|
| Laptop size | 14.1–19.3″ |
| Fan | 5.5-inch, up to 2,800 RPM / 71.9 mmH2O |
| Seal | Magnetic memory foam + dust filter |
| Extras | USB hub, RGB, 7-height legs, own power brick |
Why it fits the Zephyrus line. G14 is 14″, G16 is 16″, G15 is the older 15.6″ chassis. The GT600 is the IETS stand that lists all three sizes. Magnetic foam is the part that matters: it has to close the gap ErgoLift opens, or the turbo fan is just a loud desk fan. V2 adds the hub the port-light G14 actually uses, and RGB you can switch off. IETS rates full speed around 65 dB — headphones territory, not a library. Mid RPM is the all-day setting; 2,800 RPM is the Turbo-mode setting. It needs its own brick and a real desk. That is the trade for forcing air into a 17 mm gaming laptop.
Skip this if you want the same fan without RGB — that is the V1. Skip it if the G14 should sit on a smaller deck, or the budget is the GT500’s. Also skip it for lap use; IETS says the stand is too big and heavy for that.
- One sealed pad that lists 14″ and 16″
- Magnetic foam is easier to place than cut-to-fit GT500 foam
- USB hub on a laptop that is short on ports
- Loud at 2,800 RPM (IETS ~65 dB)
- Desk-only: own brick, large footprint
IETS GT600 V1 View on Amazon
| Type | Sealed-chamber turbo stand |
|---|---|
| Laptop size | 14.1–19.3″ |
| Fan | 5.5-inch, up to 2,800 RPM / 71.9 mmH2O |
| RGB | None |
| Extras | USB hub, LED speed display, magnetic foam |
Why it fits the Zephyrus line. IETS’s own chart is the reason this is Value, not a downgrade: V1 and V2 share max speed and wind pressure. The V2 premium is lighting. On a G14 or G16 the seal, the 5.5-inch fan, and the hub are the parts that change thermals and desk setup. If Amazon’s V2/V1 gap is a few dollars, buy V2 and turn the LEDs off. If V1 is clearly cheaper, it is the same cooler.
Skip this if V2 is the same price. Also skip the B0 if you still want 2,800 RPM — B0 stops at 1,600 RPM and drops the hub.
- Rated cooling matches the V2
- Keeps the hub the G14 is short on
- No RGB to disable in a dark room
- Still loud at the top of the dial
- Same large desk footprint as V2
IETS GT500 View on Amazon
| Type | Sealed-chamber turbo stand |
|---|---|
| Laptop size | 13–17.3″ |
| Fan | Smaller turbo, up to ~4,200–5,000 RPM by SKU |
| Seal | Cut-to-fit foam (not magnetic) |
| Fits | G14, G15, G16 — not 18″ class |
Why it fits the Zephyrus line. It is still a pressurized chamber, which is the only reason it is on this page. The deck is sized for 13–17.3″, so a 14-inch G14 does not look lost on a 19-inch stand. G16 at 16″ still fits. The cost is noise and fuss: a smaller fan spins faster, foam is sectional rather than magnetic, and some owners cut the rear foam so ErgoLift does not break the seal. That is a worse living-with-it story than the GT600, and a much better thermal story than a KLIM tray at the same price.
Skip this if the GT600 V1 is within about $20. The larger fan is the point of paying up. Also skip GT500 SKUs that drop the foam kit — the seal is the product.
- Sealed chamber at the bottom of the IETS price list
- 13–17.3″ deck matches G14 better than a 19″ tray
- Covers G15 and G16 without jumping to llano’s 15.6″ minimum
- Higher-pitched at full speed than the GT600
- Foam is fiddlier than the magnetic GT600 kit
If You Need Something Else
These two are not cheaper versions of the Top 3. One is a quieter GT600 with less pressure. One is a 15.6″+ sealed stand that fits G16 and G15, not the G14.
IETS GT600 B0 View on Amazon
| Type | Sealed-chamber turbo stand |
|---|---|
| Fan | 1,600 RPM / 47.3 mmH2O |
| Noise (IETS) | ~55 dB at max, vs ~65 dB on V1/V2 |
| Hub / RGB | None |
| Size | 14.1–19.3″ |
B0 keeps the magnetic foam and the 14–19.3″ deck. IETS cuts the fan to 1,600 RPM, which is why it is quieter and why it is not the default on a Turbo-mode G16. 47.3 mmH2O is still above the old GT500’s rated pressure, so it is a sealed pad, not an open tray. Buy it when the room cannot take 65 dB and you will leave the laptop in Performance rather than chasing every watt of TGP.
Skip this if you already decided on V1. The hub and the extra 1,200 RPM are the V1. Also skip it if the goal is maximum pressure on a 5080/5090 G16 — that is V1 or V2.
llano V12 View on Amazon
| Type | Sealed-chamber turbo stand |
|---|---|
| Laptop size | 15.6–19″ (llano listing) |
| Power | 12V / 3A brick |
| Fan | 5.5-inch, 300–2,800 RPM |
| Skip for | 14-inch G14 |
Same idea as the GT600: big turbo fan, foam gasket, own brick. llano’s US listing starts at 15.6″, which is the G15 and G16, not the G14. If the 16-inch chassis is the only machine on the desk and the V12 is in stock cheaper than a GT600 V1, it is a fair alternate. It is not the Overall pick on a page that still has to cover the G14.
Skip this if the laptop is a G14. Also skip llano’s own 20–25°C lab claim — treat it as a sealed 16-inch stand, not a measured Zephyrus result.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the G15 still a current Zephyrus?
No. ASUS ended the 15.6-inch G15 after 2022 and moved that slot to the G16. The G15 is still on this page because it uses the same bottom-intake / rear-exhaust layout. A sealed pad that fits 15.6″ is the right type; treating the G15 as a 2026 SKU is not.
Will ErgoLift break the foam seal?
It can, if the hinge sits on the gasket. Sit the chassis so the foam meets the intake panel, not the hinge knuckle — usually a little forward on the stand. The GT600’s magnetic strips are easier to redo than the GT500’s cut foam. If the rear is up and you can see daylight around the intakes, the fan is wasting pressure.
Does a cooling pad void the ASUS warranty?
An external stand does not. It does not replace a repaste or a vapor-chamber swap. If the laptop is still under warranty and running hot, this is the reversible first step.
Can I use this on my lap?
IETS says not to. The GT600 is a metal stand with its own power brick. These picks are desk hardware for a thin gaming laptop, not a bed tray.
Final Verdict
For most Zephyrus G14, G15, and G16 desks, buy the IETS GT600 V2. If V1 is clearly cheaper, it is the same cooler without lights. Need a smaller, cheaper sealed stand? That is the GT500. The B0 and the llano V12 are different jobs — jump those from the decision list above. Do not buy an open mesh pad for a bottom-intake Zephyrus, and do not use a 15.6″-minimum stand as the G14 default.
