Pairing a high-resolution, professional-grade body like the Canon EOS R5 with a flimsy support system is a recipe for soft images and frustration. In my extensive field testing, I found that the primary struggle for R5 users is balancing the camera’s substantial weight—especially when paired with L-series glass—against the need for a compact, carry-on-friendly footprint….
Best gimbal for the 2020 Canon EOS R5: DJI RS 4 Overall for body + RF 24-70 F2.8, RS 3 Mini for 24-105 F4, Weebill 3S as the 3 kg non-Ronin — not RS 5, not RS 4 Pro, not 8K over micro HDMI.
Canon EOS R5 Mark II ND guide: 45MP stacked, 8K60 RAW, 4K120, C-Log2 around ISO 800, no internal ND. PolarPro 82mm 6–9 first on RF 24–70 / 70–200.
The Canon EOS R5 captures breathtaking 8K video, but its internal microphones are a massive liability, picking up lens autofocus hum and internal fan whirring during high-resolution recording. To match the R5’s professional-grade visuals, you need an audio solution that bypasses its decent but limited preamps. I spent over 40 hours field-testing twelve different microphones—ranging…
Mounting a $20 filter on a high-resolution 45MP Canon EOS R5 sensor is the fastest way to turn your professional-grade RF glass into a muddy mess. The Canon EOS R5 is an absolute beast of a camera, but its 45-megapixel sensor and 8K RAW video capabilities demand serious speed. If you’ve ever seen the dreaded “busy” signal while a buffer clears during a crucial wedding shoot, you know that a slow card is a bottleneck you can’t afford. I’ve tested dozens…
The Canon EOS R5 is a high-resolution beast, pushing 45-megapixel frames and 8K video that can bring a slow memory card to its knees. While the CFexpress Type B slot handles the heavy lifting, your secondary SD slot is vital for redundant backups or overflow. I’ve spent months testing various UHS-II cards in my R5,…
The Canon EOS R5 is a professional powerhouse, but that gorgeous 3.2-inch articulating touch LCD is a magnet for scratches and nose smudges. I’ve seen far too many R5 bodies with “battle scars” on the glass that could have been avoided for the price of a memory card case. After testing several options in the…
