Best Printer for Fujifilm X Half
The Fujifilm X half (X-HF1) is a 240 g JPEG compact that Fuji sold with a print path: swipe PAIRING on the LCD, then instax PRINTER PRINT. No cable. No phone in the middle. Fuji’s own line is that a single frame belongs on mini film and a 2-in-1 belongs on Wide. The 2026 first printer for this body is the instax Link WIDE. It is not a 4×6 dye-sub on a desk, and it is not a gadget you have to open an app to use.

How We Picked These Printers
- What Fujifilm published: X half product page (fujifilm-x.com): supported instax mini Link 2, mini Link 3, SQUARE Link, Link WIDE. Shop USA how-to: power both, swipe down, PAIRING; playback → instax PRINTER PRINT; crop on the preview; instax-Rich vs instax-Natural under NETWORK/USB SETTING. Manual / New Features Guide (X-HF1, ver. 1.30): firmware 1.30 adds instax Evo and LiPlay series, a Direct Print icon on single-frame playback, and the same quality modes. Mini Link printers: firmware “0104” or later (update from the mini Link app). Film develops ~90 s; do not shake.
- The unique trap is format, not megapixels: instax.com/link_print: “X half Single Shot is perfect for mini format instax photos, while 2-in-1 images are perfect for the WIDE format.” The camera is JPEG / Exif 2.31 only — there is no RAF to send to a lab printer. ProVideo Coalition noted 2-in-1 fitting a Wide frame. A SELPHY does 4×6 from a computer or card; it will not answer the swipe-PAIRING menu. Link WIDE is 340 g with a stand; mini Link 3 is 210 g with USB-C. Wide film costs more per sheet than mini. That is the trade, not “better color science.”
- The box you actually buy: Link WIDE if 2-in-1 is why you bought the camera. Mini Link 3 if the job is wallet prints and you want USB-C. Mini Link 2 if the body is on sale and firmware is 0104+. Add the matching 10-sheet film (WIDE / mini / SQUARE — packs do not cross). Skip dye-sub as the X half printer. Skip buying Link 3 and Link 2. SQUARE Link if you live in 1:1. Evo / LiPlay only if you want a hybrid camera that also prints after 1.30.

Fujifilm instax Link WIDE View on Amazon View on B&H
| Film | instax WIDE, 10 sheets/pack. Image 62 × 99 mm on an 86 × 108 mm sheet |
|---|---|
| Head | OLED, 800 × 1260 dots, 12.5 dots/mm (318 dpi), 256 levels/color |
| Link | Bluetooth 4.2 BLE. JPEG/PNG/HEIF/DNG on the printer sheet — the camera sends JPEG |
| Power | Internal Li-ion, ~100 prints/charge, 80–120 min, Micro-USB (cable in the box) |
| Size | ~139 × 127.5 × 33.7 mm, ~340 g without film. Stand + strap included |
| On X half | Official list. 2-in-1 → Wide. instax-Rich / instax-Natural from the camera menu |
Why it fits the X half. The body defaults to vertical frames and a 2-in-1 combiner. Fuji’s print page says that combiner is a Wide sheet, not a cropped mini. Pairing is on-camera: swipe down, PAIRING, then playback → instax PRINTER PRINT (firmware 1.30 also puts a Direct Print icon on the single-frame view). You crop on the camera. You do not need the Link WIDE phone app for that path. The printer is the heaviest of the three (~340 g) and still charges on Micro-USB — the X half’s USB-C port does not print. Overall because it is the only SKU that matches the reason this camera exists.
Skip this if you never use 2-in-1 and you only want credit-card prints. Mini film is cheaper per sheet and Link 3 is 130 g lighter. Skip it as a 4×6 album printer — WIDE is still an instant sheet, not a lab border.
- Fuji’s stated sheet for 2-in-1
- Direct Bluetooth from the X half, no phone
- Stand in the carton; ~100 prints per charge
- WIDE film costs more than mini, 10 sheets a pack
- Micro-USB in 2026; 340 g vs the 210 g minis

Fujifilm instax mini Link 3 View on Amazon View on B&H
| Film | instax mini, 10 sheets/pack. Image 62 × 46 mm |
|---|---|
| Head | OLED, 800 × 600 dots, 318 dpi, ~15 s to eject |
| Link | Bluetooth 5.1. Same camera pairing as Wide |
| Power | Internal Li-ion, ~100 prints, 1.5–2.0 h, USB-C cable in the box (FZ00013220, 30 cm) |
| Size | 90.0 × 37.3 × 125.0 mm, 210 g without film |
| On X half | Official list (with Link 2). Mini firmware 0104+ still applies to the mini family |
Why it fits the X half. Fuji’s print page puts single shots on mini. The X half’s default 3:4 vertical still is a phone-shaped frame; mini is the sheet that already lives in pharmacies. Link 3 is the current mini: USB-C instead of Link 2’s Micro-USB, Bluetooth 5.1, same 210 g class. Value because the running cost is the film, not the printer, and mini is the cheap pack. Pairing is still camera-to-printer. The mini Link app is for phones; you do not need it to print a JPEG sitting on the SD card.
Skip this if 2-in-1 is the whole point of the camera — that pair belongs on Wide, and a mini print will crop or shrink the diptych. Skip it if a Link 2 with firmware 0104 is already in the bag; the film is identical.
- Cheapest film, widest retail
- USB-C, unlike Link WIDE and Link 2
- On Fuji’s X half supported list
- 62 × 46 mm is not a 2-in-1 sheet
- Same ~100-print battery as the others — not a capacity upgrade

Fujifilm instax mini Link 2 View on Amazon View on B&H
| Film | instax mini. Image 62 × 46 mm. Packs interchange with Link 3 |
|---|---|
| Head | OLED, 800 × 600, ~12–15 s. Develop ~90 s |
| Link | Bluetooth 4.2 BLE. JPEG/PNG/HEIF/DNG on the printer sheet |
| Power | Internal Li-ion, ~100 prints, 80–120 min, Micro-USB (BOD700, 30 cm in the box) |
| Size | 91.9 × 36.4 × 124.8 mm, ~210 g without film |
| On X half | Named on the camera page. Manual: mini Link firmware 0104 or later |
Why it fits the X half. Link 2 is not a SKU Fuji forgot to delete. The X half page still lists it next to Link 3. The constraint is firmware 0104+ — check and update from the mini Link app before you blame the camera. After that, swipe-PAIRING works the same. Budget because the hardware is the one that goes on sale while the film stays current. INSTAXAiR doodling and LED tricks are phone-app features; they are not why this camera pairs.
Skip this if you want one USB-C cable for camera and printer — buy Link 3. Skip a unit that still reports firmware older than 0104 and cannot be updated. Skip buying it plus Link 3.
- Still on Fuji’s X half list
- Same mini packs as Link 3
- Usually the cheapest official body
- Micro-USB; BT 4.2 not 5.1
- Must confirm firmware 0104+

If You Need Something Else
Fuji’s chart still has a square printer. It still does not list a dye-sub.
Fujifilm instax SQUARE Link View on Amazon View on B&H
| Film | instax SQUARE, 62 × 62 mm image, 800 × 800, ~12 s, USB-C, 236 g |
|---|---|
| On X half | Official list. Matches the camera’s 1:1 stills. Reprint button on the printer |
| Why not Top 3 | SQUARE film is thinner on shelves than mini and does not carry 2-in-1 the way Wide does. Hardware often costs more than Link 3 |
Buy this when you actually shoot square on the X half. It is not a cheaper Wide and it is not a mini with bigger borders. Firmware 1.30 also opened mini Evo, WIDE Evo, and LiPlay hybrids — those are second cameras that print, not a smaller Link.

Canon SELPHY / Polaroid Hi-Print / Kodak Step View on Amazon View on B&H
| What they are | Desk 4×6 dye-sub or sticky ZINK. Fine printers. Wrong radio |
|---|---|
| X half menu | instax PRINTER PRINT talks to instax Link / Evo / LiPlay after pairing. Not SELPHY Wi-Fi |
| If you still want 4×6 | Pull the JPEG off the SD (UHS-I V30 slot) and print from a computer. That is a different page |
Do not buy a dye-sub because the X half is “a camera.” The pairing Fuji shipped is instax. A lab print from JPEG is always available later; it is not the accessory this body was specified around.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a phone to print from the X half?
No. Shop USA: power both, swipe down, PAIRING, then playback → instax PRINTER PRINT. Firmware 1.30 adds a Direct Print icon on the single-frame view. The phone apps are for printing from a phone, not a requirement for this camera path.
Will a 2-in-1 look right on mini film?
Fuji’s print page puts 2-in-1 on Wide and singles on mini. You can crop a diptych onto 62 × 46 mm; you will throw away the reason you pulled the frame-advance lever. Use Link WIDE for that file.
What firmware does a mini Link need?
X-HF1 manual: before connecting an instax mini Link printer, firmware 0104 or later. Check and update in the mini Link app. Link WIDE / SQUARE / Link 3 should be on current firmware too — instax.com says update camera and printer before use.
Can I print RAF / RAW?
The X half does not write RAF. Stills are JPEG / Exif 2.31. The printer’s HEIF/DNG line is for the phone app, not a RAW workflow this body lacks.
Is the USB cable in the camera box for printing?
No. The X half carton omitted a USB cable; the port is USB 2.0 Type-C for power/data. Link WIDE and Link 2 charge on Micro-USB. Link 3 and SQUARE Link charge on USB-C. None of those cables is a print cable — print is Bluetooth.
