Best ND Filters for Canon EOS R6 Mark II (2026): C-Log3, 4K60, No Built-in ND
The Canon EOS R6 Mark II is a 24.2-megapixel hybrid with oversampled 4K60 and no built-in ND. Canon’s own manual sets C-Log3 movie ISO to 800–25600. That is not C-Log2, and this is not the R5 Mark II’s 8K RAW body. Stills still start at ISO 100. The 2026 first buy is the PolarPro Peter McKinnon Edition II Variable ND 2–5 Stop in 82 mm for RF 24–70mm F2.8.

How We Picked
Three official facts decide the glass. Everything else is a pairing.
- No built-in ND. EOS R6 Mark II is a hybrid RF body. Internal ND is Cinema EOS, not this stills/video hybrid. (Canon EOS R6 Mark II specifications (manual))
- C-Log3 movie ISO 800–25600; stills ISO 100. Canon’s table: Canon Log 3 On → ISO 800–25600 (L/H expanded). Stills remain ISO 100–102400. There is no C-Log2 on this body. (Canon: ISO speed in movie recording)
- 4K60, RF 24–70 is 82 mm. 4K UHD uncropped/cropped is in the spec sheet. F2.8 L zooms are 82 mm. 77 mm 24–105 steps up. (Canon R6 Mark II spec sheet (PDF))

R6 Mark II is a 24MP hybrid, not an 8K C-Log2 flagship. The first ND is 2–5. C-Log3 noon is the 6–9 add-on.
Canon’s R6 Mark II manual: stills ISO 100–102400 (L 50 / H 204800), Dual Pixel CMOS AF, 4K UHD uncropped and cropped. When Canon Log 3 is on, movie ISO is 800–25600 (expanded L down to 100 and H up). There is no C-Log2 Custom Picture on this body — that is the R5 Mark II / Cinema EOS split. There is no internal ND. RF 24–70mm F2.8 and RF 70–200mm F2.8 are 82 mm. RF 24–105 F4 is 77 mm.
At ISO 100, f/2.8, 1/50, noon still wants about five stops. That is a 2–5 — weddings, Canon 709, HQ 4K. C-Log3 at ISO 800 in hard sun is a different exposure; that is Layer 2’s 6–9, not Overall. The R5 Mark II article starts on 6–9 because 8K RAW + C-Log2 is that body’s first video job. Copying it onto the R6 II would sell the wrong first ring.
6K RAW over HDMI (to a compatible recorder) also has no ND in the cable. IBIS does not insert stops. Buy 82 mm first; step 77 mm 24–105 up to it.
- 2–5 matches ISO 100 stills and 4K24–60 Canon 709
- 82 mm is RF 24–70 / 70–200 F2.8
- Hard stops; same SKU as an R5 II 2–5 add-on if both bodies share a bag
- Not enough alone for C-Log3 ISO 800 at f/1.8 in noon sun
- Wrong first buy if this R6 II is used only as a C-Log3 A-cam — then start on 6–9

True Color 1–5 for Canon 709 and ISO 100 portraits when the 2-stop PolarPro floor is high.
R6 Mark II owners often stay in Canon 709 or a Picture Style for 4K that does not need a grade. Those modes sit near ISO 100. NiSi’s 1-stop floor is useful in open shade. Fine Tuning marks 1/50 and 1/125. Same 82 mm as PolarPro.
- 1-stop floor for shade / 709
- True Color
- 82 mm RF L zooms
- C-Log3 noon still wants 6–9
- Lever vs RF hood

Cheap 82 mm ND2–32. Confirm KF01.1805V1. ND64–512 is the C-Log3 add-on, not this body’s Budget pick.
KF01.1805V1 is the 82 mm Nano-X ND2–32. It matches the Overall 2–5 job. Stay off the last ½ stop. Do not buy the R5 Mark II article’s KF01.1856 6–9 as the only R6 II filter unless C-Log3 is every daylight clip.
- Correct 82 mm ND2–32 SKU
- Hybrid 2–5 range
- No hard stops
- Easy to add the 6–9 SKU by mistake after reading the R5 II page

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the R6 Mark II have C-Log2 like the R5 Mark II?
No. Canon documents Canon Log 3 on this body. C-Log2 is the R5 Mark II / Cinema EOS feature. Do not copy the R5 II 6–9 Overall unless C-Log3 noon is every job.
Does it have a built-in ND?
No. Internal ND is Cinema EOS. The R6 Mark II needs a filter on the RF lens.
Why 2–5 when C-Log3 starts at ISO 800?
Stills and Canon 709 still start at ISO 100. That is the hybrid default. C-Log3 noon is the 6–9 add-on in Layer 2.
Will an R5 Mark II 82 mm PolarPro fit?
Yes. Same 82 mm. The R6 II-specific facts are 24MP, no 8K RAW, C-Log3 not C-Log2, and a 2–5 first buy.
RF 24–105 is 77 mm. Buy 77 or 82?
Buy 82 mm if the F2.8 L zooms are the A-lenses, plus a 77→82 step-up. Buy 77 mm only if 24–105 is the only zoom.
Does IBIS replace ND?
No. IBIS holds a long still. It does not cut 4K at 1/50.
Final Verdict
The R6 Mark II is a 24MP hybrid with 4K60, C-Log3 at ISO 800, and no internal ND. It is not the R5 Mark II. Start with the PolarPro 2–5 82 mm. Use NiSi 1–5 for 709 / shade. Use K&F KF01.1805V1 as the cheap 82 mm. Add a 6–9 when C-Log3 noon runs out of five stops.
