Best Camera Case for Sony a6700
The a6700 is 122 × 69 × 75.1 mm and 493 g with the NP-FZ100 — small enough to rattle in a DSLR cube, long enough in the grip that a pancake pouch will not zip over the 18–135. Size the bag to the lens you leave mounted, not the body. Peak Design’s Everyday Sling 6L v2 is the one that matches the usual kit: camera plus the 18–135 or 16–50 II and a spare prime.
Our Top Picks at a Glance
Reviewed August 2026 · sized to Sony’s body + SELP16502 / SEL18135 / SEL70350G
Peak Design sizes 6L as DSLR-class. Two FlexFold dividers hold the a6700 with the 18–135 and a second prime. 3L is one body/lens; 10L is the 70–350 / cage step-up.

How We Picked These Cases
- Start from Sony’s numbers, not a “compact camera” vibe: ILCE-6700 is 122.0 × 69.0 × 75.1 mm overall, 122.0 × 69.0 × 63.6 mm grip-to-monitor, 493 g with battery and card. The battery is NP-FZ100. There is no Sony vertical grip for this body. Dust and moisture resistance is a marketing seal, not an IP rating — the bag still does rain duty.
- The lens on the mount is the bag size: E PZ 16–50 II (SELP16502) retracts to 31.3 mm. E 18–135 OSS (SEL18135) is 88 mm long, 67.2 mm across, 325 g. E 70–350 G OSS (SEL70350G) is 142 mm long, 77 mm across, 625 g. Add those to the 75.1 mm body and the 18–135 kit is the default length this page sizes to. The 70–350 is a 10 L / Mover 30 problem. SmallRig’s 4336 cage kit is 139.5 × 91 × 62.2 mm — 17 mm wider and 22 mm taller than the naked body.
- Manufacturer interiors, not drop tests: Peak Design: 3L = one mirrorless body/lens, 6L = DSLR-class, 10L = a small kit / 13-inch laptop bag; 6L interior is listed around 28 × 21 × 11 cm because the sling expands. Think Tank Mover 20 V2 is 21 × 14.5 × 9 cm and they put an a7 IV with 24–70 f/4 or f/2.8 in it. Lowepro SH 120 III is 14 × 11 × 16 cm, 3 L, 0.24 kg, and they name Sony a7-series with a lens attached. Billingham’s Hadley Small Pro insert is 260 × 80 mm (bows to 120 mm) × 190 mm. Field Pouch V2 is a 1.5–3 L roll-top with a felt liner, not closed-cell foam.
Best Camera Case for Sony a6700: Detailed Reviews
Peak Design Everyday Sling 6L v2 View on Amazon View on B&H
| SKU / ASIN | BEDS-6-BK-2 · B07ZTQ7ZGV |
|---|---|
| Volume | 6 L · exterior ~34 × 24 × 13 cm (top) |
| Interior | ~28 × 21 × 11 cm / 28 × 21 × 9 cm (B&H-style, expandable) |
| Weight | 0.58 kg empty · 0.78 kg with dividers |
| Shell | 400D recycled nylon, UltraZip, 11-inch tablet sleeve |
| Street | About $120 |
Why it fits this body. Peak Design’s own ladder is the whole review: 3L for a single mirrorless body/lens, 6L when the kit looks like a small DSLR, 10L when you add a 70–200-class lens or a thin 13-inch laptop. The a6700 with SEL18135 (88 mm) plus a Sigma 18–50 or a 16 mm prime is that 6L kit. FlexFold panels fold into an L around the grip so the 75.1 mm-deep body does not roll into the spare glass. Stretch pockets take NP-FZ100s and SD. External Cord Hook straps hold a compact travel tripod. The tablet sleeve is spec’d to 11 inches — not a 12.9-inch iPad with a keyboard case.
Skip this if you only ever mount the 16–50 II and want a holster (Lowepro), or you shoot the 70–350 or a caged rig as the daily (10L / Mover 30). Skip the 3L sibling as an 18–135 bag with spares; Peak Design does not size it that way.
- Sized to the actual 18–135 kit, not the naked body
- Dividers that fold around the a6700 grip; 11-inch sleeve
- About $120; strap takes a break-in
- Not the 70–350 / cage bag

Think Tank Mirrorless Mover 20 V2 View on Amazon View on B&H
| SKU / ASIN | 710894 series · B0CLWWK512 (Coast Green) |
|---|---|
| Interior | 8.25 × 5.75 × 3.5 in / 21 × 14.5 × 9 cm |
| Exterior | 9.25 × 6.75 × 4.75 in / 23.5 × 17 × 12 cm |
| Weight | 0.38 kg with rain cover and strap |
| Hardware | YKK RC zips, magnetic flip-top, belt pass-through |
| Street | $62.75 list |
Why it is value on this camera. Think Tank’s fit example is a full-frame a7 IV with 24–70 f/4 or f/2.8. The a6700 is 122 × 69 × 75.1 mm against that larger body, so the 18–135 (88 mm) is inside the envelope they already claim. You get two padded dividers, a phone slot in the lid, a front organizer for NP-FZ100s and SD, and a seam-sealed rain cover in the box — that last item is why it beats a $40 holster in weather. Belt pass-through if you would rather hang it than sling it. Amazon’s “20 liters” on some listings is the model name, not the volume.
Skip this if you want a cross-body sling that disappears on a bike, or the 70–350 stays on the camera. Think Tank’s own copy is “short to medium f/4 zooms or short to medium primes.” That is the 18–135, not SEL70350G. Mover 30 V2 is 26.5 × 19 × 11 cm for the tele.
- Fit list already bigger than a6700 + 18–135
- Rain cover, YKK RC, magnetic lid, ~half the 6L
- Strap is a shoulder bag, not a Peak Design sling
- No tripod straps; not a 70–350 holster

Lowepro Adventura SH 120 III View on Amazon View on B&H
| SKU | LP37450-PWW |
|---|---|
| Interior | 14 × 11 × 16 cm (Lowepro) |
| Exterior | 18 × 15 × 21 cm · 3 L |
| Weight | 0.24 kg |
| Fabric | 82% recycled + solution-dyed (59% recycled / 23% solution-dyed) |
| Street | About $35–$45 |
Why this holster and not a bigger Adventura. Lowepro writes the SH 120 III for a full-frame mirrorless with a lens attached and names Sony a7-series. The longest interior figure they publish is 16 cm. SELP16502 at 31.3 mm retracted is the easy fit. SEL18135 at 88 mm, hood in the pocket, is the size they had in mind. There are no internal dividers — one camera, one lens, memory-card pocket, belt loop, detachable strap. The molded base is why it stands up on a wet bench. The old page called the recycled content 84%; Lowepro’s Green Line sheet is 82%.
Skip this if you carry a second lens, a cage, or the 70–350. Lowepro’s own size-up is SH 140 III / SH 160 III. Do not buy this as a two-lens travel bag.
- Lowepro already sizes it to a7 + lens; a6700 is smaller
- 0.24 kg, belt loop, molded base, real SKU
- No dividers; no rain cover in the spec sheet
- Unpadded strap; 70–350 will not go in

If You Need Something Else
Peak Design Everyday Sling 10L View on Amazon View on B&H
| Why it is here | Peak Design’s “small kit / 13-inch laptop” size. Interior about 31–36 × 23 × 11–13 cm. |
|---|---|
| a6700 use | SEL70350G (142 mm) left on, or SmallRig 4336 (139.5 × 91 mm) plus a zoom. |
| Alt | Think Tank Mover 30 V2 · 26.5 × 19 × 11 cm · B0CLWTMJ8X · ~$79 |
The previous page said the 6L “fits the 70–350 vertically, but only just.” Peak Design does not sell 6L as a 70–200-class bag. 10L (or Mover 30) is the honest size-up. Current 10L listings are v2/v3 depending on retailer; buy by capacity and the 13–14-inch sleeve, not by a random color ASIN.
Skip this if your daily is 16–50 II or 18–135 plus one prime. That is the 6L row.

Billingham Hadley Small Pro View on Amazon View on B&H
| Insert | 260 × 80 mm (bows to 100–120 mm) × 190 mm · 3.5 L |
|---|---|
| Shell | 3-layer waterproof FibreNyte or canvas, made in England, QDS straps |
| Billingham fit | Small/mid DSLR or mirrorless + 2–3 small-to-medium lenses |
Same interior as Hadley Small, plus the top handle, rear zip, and luggage strap that make it “Pro.” The 190 mm insert height takes the a6700 with the 18–135 (88 mm from the mount) and leaves a cell for two primes. It will not swallow a 70–350 attached. This is weather cloth and brass, not a sling. Hadley Pro 2020 is a larger bag — do not order that SKU thinking it is Small Pro.
Skip this if you wanted $120 nylon. It is a different product.

Peak Design Field Pouch V2 View on Amazon View on B&H
| SKU / ASIN | BP-BK-3 · B0DCKCGQRD |
|---|---|
| Volume | 1.5–3 L roll-top · max interior 23 × 18 × 10 cm · 170 g |
| Padding | Felt liner, eight stretch pockets — Peak Design says “small lenses or camera bodies” |
Useful as a bag-in-bag for batteries and the 16–50 II body. It is not closed-cell foam and it is not how you carry SEL18135 as the only protection. The old page put it in Also Great for pancake shooters; keep it for that, not as a substitute for the Lowepro or the 6L.
Skip this if you wanted a camera case. That is the point of this row.

Peak Design Everyday Sling 3L v2 View on Amazon View on B&H
| SKU / ASIN | BEDS-3-BK-2 · B07ZTQWGWR |
|---|---|
| Peak Design size | One mirrorless body/lens |
| Listed interior | 19.8 × 8.9 × 6.4 cm (retailer sheet; the sling expands) |
The 6.4 cm listed depth is already under the a6700’s 75.1 mm body depth unless the bag is fully opened. SELP16502 at 31.3 mm is the kit this 3L is for. The previous FAQ said 3L is “perfect” with 16–50 and “extremely tight” with 18–135. Treat 3L as 16–50 II only. If you own the 18–135, buy the 6L.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the a6700 actually fit the Peak Design 3L?
Peak Design sizes 3L as one mirrorless body and lens. With the 16–50 II retracted (31.3 mm), yes. With the 18–135 (88 mm) and anything else, buy the 6L. Retailer interior sheets list about 6.4 cm on one axis — less than the body’s 75.1 mm until the sling expands — so do not plan on a second lens.
What bag for the 70–350 G?
Not the SH 120 III (16 cm interior). Not the Mover 20 V2 (Think Tank: short-to-medium zooms). Everyday Sling 10L or Mirrorless Mover 30 V2 (26.5 × 19 × 11 cm). The 70–350 is 142 mm long on a 75.1 mm-deep body.
Is the a6700 waterproof enough to skip a rain cover?
Sony does not publish an IP rating. Seals help at the mount and doors; they are not a dive housing. Think Tank’s seam-sealed cover, Billingham’s 3-layer FibreNyte, or Peak Design’s DWR 400D is the rain plan. Salt and driving rain still go around a battery door.
Will a silicone skin replace a case?
No. A skin covers paint. It does not pad the 3.0-inch vari-angle LCD or the IBIS unit. The Lowepro’s molded base is the cheap version of that padding.
Final Verdict
Buy the bag for the lens that stays on the a6700. 16–50 II is the Lowepro. 18–135 plus a prime is the Peak Design 6L, or the Think Tank 20 V2 if you want a rain cover and YKK for $63. 70–350 and the SmallRig 4336 cage are 10L / Mover 30. The 3L sling and Field Pouch are not 18–135 cases. Sony’s weather seals are not an IP rating.
