Best Accessories for Ricoh GR IV
The GR IV carton is one DB-120, a USB-C cable, and a hand strap. The cell is new: a GR III DB-110 will not power this body. Ricoh’s CIPA line is 250 stills. There is no pop-up. The door is microSD, and about 53 GB already lives in the camera. The 2026 first spare is a second DB-120. It is not a GR III battery, and it is not a wide converter you buy before you can finish a walk.

How We Picked These Accessories
- What Ricoh published: GR IV / HDF spec (updated 17 Dec 2025): 25.74 MP, 14-bit DNG, 18.3 mm f/2.8 (28 mm equiv.), built-in 2 EV ND (HDF swaps that for the diffusion filter). Storage: ~53 GB internal + microSD / HC / XC UHS-I. No internal flash; shoe “compatible with dedicated flash”; output AUTO / 1/1 / 1/4; P-TTL not supported. Leaf shutter 1/4000–30 s (1/2500 at f/2.8). USB-C charge / MTP / DisplayPort. DB-120, 250 stills CIPA, ~240 min playback. 262 g with battery and card. Carton: DB-120, I-USB198, O-ST198, shoe cover O-HC198, ring cap GN-3 (BK). Optional list (ricoh-imaging accessories + FAQ): DB-120, BJ-12, D-AC166 / K-AC166J, GF-2, GA-3, GW-4, GV-1 / GV-2, GK-2, GC-11 / 12 / 14, GS-2 / GS-3 / GS-4 / ST-2. FAQ: DB-110 and DB-65 are not compatible. GA-3 is dedicated to GR IV and is required for a 49 mm JIS filter or GW-4; remove GN-3 first. GW-4 is 0.75× / 21 mm equiv.; camera shows WIDE; 72 mm filter on the converter; GW-1/2/3 will not mount. GA-3 will not mount a GR III. GT-2 is GR IIIx only. No wired cable release — GR WORLD over Bluetooth. GF-2: GN 3 (ISO 100), ISO Auto Flash on GR IV, USB-C pack, ~19 g; GW-4 not supported on that head.
- The GR III drawer is the trap, not a kit: New cell, new adapter, new card shape, new flash contacts. A DB-110, a GA-1, and a full-size Extreme PRO from the III are three skips. 250 CIPA on a street compact is why Overall is a second DB-120, not a $400 wide converter. 53 GB internals hold ~995 26 MP DNGs — the card is overflow (UHS-I, Class 10 / V30), not a V90 UHS-II. No pop-up is why a cheap center-pin or the GF-2 exists; P-TTL is still not this shoe.
- The box you actually buy: A spare DB-120. A dedicated Extreme 128 GB microSDXC, formatted in the GR IV. An iM30 if you want fill without the GF-2 price. Add GF-2 when you want the rangefinder-linked Auto Ricoh wrote. Add GA-3 when you want a 49 mm CPL or the GW-4 21 mm path. Skip BJ-12 until two cells and a nightstand matter. Skip GV-1 as the first purchase — it occupies the shoe. Skip GC-14 as “required protection.” The built-in ND already covers two stops; do not buy GA-3 only to mount an ND you already have in the lens.
Best Accessories for Ricoh GR IV: Detailed Reviews
Ricoh DB-120 View on Amazon View on B&H
| Cell | DB-120 · same pack as the carton |
|---|---|
| On GR IV | 250 stills CIPA (23 °C, LCD on) · ~240 min playback |
| Charge | USB-C in the body (PD adapter or computer; empty ≈ 2.5 h). BJ-12: two cells, ~2 h, uses the camera USB cable |
| Not this | DB-110 (GR III / IIIx). DB-65 (GR / GR II / GR DIGITAL). Third-party 110-shaped packs |
| Why Overall | One cell in the box. Street days exceed 250 frames. The old GR battery does not fit |
Why it fits the GR IV. This is the accessory the GR III drawer does not solve. Ricoh moved the pack. FAQ: DB-110 and DB-65 are not compatible. CIPA is 250 stills — Snap, AF, and the 3-inch LCD eat that faster on a walk. USB-C will top the cell in the body; it will not give you a second body in the pouch. BJ-12 is the desk charger for two packs, not a requirement for one spare. Third-party “GR IV” cells exist; this pairing is the official DB-120 so firmware and the 250-shot line stay on Ricoh’s page.
Skip this if two genuine DB-120s already live in the bag. Then the money is the card or the flash.
- The only cell Ricoh lists
- USB-C in the camera; BJ-12 if you already own two packs
- Shared with GR IV HDF / Monochrome
- 250 CIPA is still short — you may want a third for a festival
- Will not charge a DB-110 into compatibility

SanDisk Extreme 128GB microSDXC View on Amazon View on B&H
| Slot | microSD / HC / XC · UHS-I only · 104 MB/s printed ceiling |
|---|---|
| Internal already | ~53 GB · 995 RAW / 3,498 JPEG L at 26 MP 3:2 · you can shoot with no card |
| Why 128 / V30 | ~2× Ricoh’s 64 GB column. 1080/60p fill rate sits near Class 10; V30 is the cheap headroom |
| Tested list | SanDisk and Kioxia XC to 1 TB (FAQ, Sept 2025). Format in-camera |
| Not this | GR III full-size SD. UHS-II Extreme PRO / React Plus as the default |
Why it is Value, not Overall. The shutter works without a card. The walk dies without a second battery. Extreme 128 GB is the overflow we already picked as Overall on the card page: SanDisk on Ricoh’s tested list, UHS-I V30, twice the internal dump. Recording destination can stay on Internal Memory Priority until the 53 GB fills. USB-C MTP pulls either store. Do not drop a GR III SD into an adapter and call it a kit.
Skip this if a formatted V30 128 GB is already in the door. Ultra 64 GB is enough if the 53 GB internals are the daily disk — that argument lives on the card page.
- Correct shape after the SD-to-microSD switch
- V30 without a UHS-II tax
- Cheapest Top 3 item that still matches a published list
- Optional on a body that already has 53 GB
- Amazon mixes Extreme PRO UHS-II into the same row

Godox iM30 View on Amazon View on B&H
| Talk to GR IV | X-sync / center pin. You set 1/64–1/1. Not P-TTL — Ricoh printed the no |
|---|---|
| Sync | Leaf shutter: 1/2500 s at f/2.8, 1/4000 s from f/5.6. Do not buy HSS |
| Vs GF-2 | More GN, more weight, no rangefinder-linked Auto. GF-2 is 19 g and ISO Auto Flash |
| Power | 2× AAA (NiMH). Optical S1/S2 if a second head is a party trick |
Why it is Budget on this page. The GR IV has no built-in flash. Most street days never add one. When they do, a $35 single-pin with GN 15 covers a doorway. The official Auto unit is the GF-2 (~$110, Layer 2). A TT350P sold as Pentax TTL is the skip — this shoe will not finish P-TTL. Full flash pairing: Best Flash for Ricoh GR IV.
Skip this if you want the camera to walk GN with distance — buy GF-2. Skip it if you never use flash; the money is the second DB-120.
- GN 15 on a 262 g body without a pop-up
- Leaf sync already covers daylight fill
- AAA, not another proprietary pack
- Manual only on this shoe
- Taller than GF-2; not a pocket-forever head

If You Need Something Else
Ricoh’s own chart still has a 19 g Auto flash and a new adapter. Neither replaces the second battery.
Ricoh GF-2 View on Amazon View on B&H
| Job | ISO Auto Flash on GR IV · GN 3 (ISO 100) · 19 g · USB-C pack |
|---|---|
| Manual | 1/1 and 1/4 from the camera menu when you want the switch |
| Not with | GW-4 — Ricoh: the wide converter is not supported on this head |
| Other GR | On GR III / IIIx the contacts differ; Auto needed a later firmware. This page is the IV |
Buy this when you want the flash conversation Ricoh wrote, and you will leave it on the shoe. It is Layer 2 because 250 CIPA and a microSD overflow are the walk. Full review lives on the flash page. Do not buy a Pentax-foot Godox and call it the GF-2.

Ricoh GA-3 (+ GW-4 if you want 21 mm) View on Amazon View on B&H
| GA-3 | GR IV only. 49 mm JIS filters. Required for GW-4. Remove ring cap GN-3 |
|---|---|
| GW-4 | 0.75× → 21 mm equiv. (91.5°). Body shows WIDE. 72 mm filter on the converter. Rubber hood in the box |
| Not this | GA-1 (GR III). GW-1 / GW-2 / GW-3. GT-2 (GR IIIx tele). A 49 mm ring on the naked GN-3 |
| ND | The GR IV already has a 2-stop internal ND. Do not buy GA-3 only for another ND |
The old accessories page led with GW-4. That is a 21 mm specialty, and it needs the new adapter. GA-3 is the part that also takes a polarizer. Keep the built-in ND for two stops. GV-1 / GV-2 share the shoe and Ricoh warns they vignette with the converter or a hood — not a day-one add-on.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will a GR III DB-110 battery work in the GR IV?
No. Ricoh: the camera uses DB-120. DB-110 (GR III series) and DB-65 (older GR) are not compatible. Charge the new cell in the body over USB-C, or use BJ-12.
Can I use the GR III GA-1 adapter or older wide converters?
No. FAQ: GA-3 is dedicated to the GR IV and will not mount a GR III. GW-4 on the IV requires GA-3 (remove GN-3). GW-1 / GW-2 / GW-3 will not work. GT-2 is a GR IIIx tele and will not work.
Do I need a memory card on day one?
No. About 53 GB is already in the body (~995 26 MP DNGs). A microSD is overflow. Full-size GR III SD cards will not fit. UHS-I, Class 6+ for video; V30 is the comfortable 60p card.
Is there a cable release?
No wired release. Ricoh: use the GR WORLD app over Bluetooth for remote firing.
Does the GR IV have a built-in flash or take Pentax P-TTL?
No pop-up. Dedicated shoe; P-TTL is not supported. GF-2 is the Auto unit on this body. A center-pin gun still fires if you set power. Leaf shutter already syncs at 1/2500–1/4000 — do not buy HSS for noon fill.
Final Verdict
For a Ricoh GR IV, buy a second DB-120 before anything decorative. Buy Extreme 128 GB microSD if you want overflow beyond the 53 GB internals. Buy iM30 if you want cheap fill; buy GF-2 if you want Ricoh’s Auto. GA-3 is how 49 mm filters and GW-4 mount — the GR III GA-1 will not. Skip DB-110, full-size SD, P-TTL guns, and treating GW-4 as the first accessory.
