How We Picked
The GR IV is a pocket camera. The case either carries it, stays on it, or folds away.
- The body is smaller than the case has to be. Ricoh GR IV specifications, September 2026: about 109.4×61.1×32.7 mm excluding protrusions, lens section 31.3 mm deep, body section 24.5 mm deep, about 262 g with the dedicated battery and a memory card, about 228 g body only. The same page: magnesium alloy exterior, about 53 GB of internal memory, and a microSD card slot.
- Ricoh still lists two different leather cases for this body. Ricoh global case page: GC-11 is a leather case with a magnetic top cover and a belt loop, supported on GR IV, GR III, and GR IIIx. GC-12 is the soft leather case that folds into a small package for a bag, with the same three cameras. Ricoh’s GC-12 product page adds that this case does not have a belt loop.
- The half case is a different object from either pouch. SmallRig 5677 product sheet: leather half case 114.3×42.1×56.0 mm, 51.9 g ±5 g, wrist strap 120.0×10.0×2.0 mm, genuine leather and microfiber, compatibility line RICOH GR IV series and GR III series.

Ricoh GC-11 Soft Case View on Amazon View on B&H
| Material | Leather, Ricoh’s “high-end” soft case |
|---|---|
| Closure | Magnetic top cover |
| Belt | Belt loop included |
| Compatibility | GR IV, GR III, GR IIIx |
Why it fits the GR IV. The camera is about 109.4 mm wide and 32.7 mm deep, 262 g with the battery and card. Ricoh’s own case list puts the GC-11 on the GR IV, not only on the older GR III. The magnetic lid is the quick-access part: the camera stays in the case on a belt instead of in a separate pouch you have to unzip. It is a carry case. It is not a half case you shoot through.
Buy it when the GR IV lives on a belt or in a jacket and you want Ricoh’s own leather. Skip it when the case has to stay on while the shutter is used. That is the half case. Skip it when the case should disappear into a bag after the camera comes out. That is the GC-12.

SmallRig 5677 Leather Case Kit for RICOH GR IV View on Amazon View on B&H
| Half case | 114.3×42.1×56.0 mm |
|---|---|
| Weight | 51.9 g ±5 g |
| Wrist strap | 120.0×10.0×2.0 mm, in the kit |
| Material | Genuine leather and microfiber |
| Compatibility | RICOH GR IV series and GR III series, on the SmallRig sheet |
Why it fits the GR IV. SmallRig’s sheet for 5677 is a half case, not a pouch. At 114.3 mm wide it is a few millimetres outside the camera’s 109.4 mm width, and at 51.9 g it is light next to a 262 g body. The lining is microfiber. The kit includes a short wrist strap. The compatibility line names the GR IV series and the GR III series together, so this is not a GR III-only shell that Ricoh has left off the new body.
Buy it when the camera should be protected while you shoot. Skip it for a belt holster with a lid, and skip it if you need the case to collapse flat. The sheet is the grey 5677 kit.

Ricoh GC-12 Soft Case View on Amazon View on B&H
| Material | Soft leather |
|---|---|
| Shape | Folds into a small package when the camera is out |
| Belt | No belt loop |
| Compatibility | GR IV, GR III, GR IIIx on Ricoh’s case page |
Why it fits the GR IV. Ricoh describes the GC-12 as the bag case: soft, and able to fold away when it is empty. The global case page lists the GR IV alongside the GR III and GR IIIx. Ricoh’s product page for this case says it does not have a belt loop, which is the split from the GC-11. The lens retracts into a 32.7 mm body, so a soft pouch is enough for a bag. It does not add a grip or a tripod thread.
Buy it when the GR IV is already going into a bag and the case should not take space afterward. Skip it on a belt, and skip it if you want to press the shutter without taking the camera out.

If You Need Something Else
The GC-12 is the one that folds away. The half case is the one that stays on the camera.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why a 262 g camera still gets a case
Ricoh’s size is about 109.4×61.1×32.7 mm, with the lens section 31.3 mm deep and the body section 24.5 mm deep. The exterior is magnesium alloy. That is a pocket camera, not a sealed brick. The cases above are carry shells and a half case, not a waterproof housing. Ricoh does not publish a depth rating for them.
Whether a GR III case is on the GR IV list
Ricoh’s current case page puts both the GC-11 and the GC-12 on the GR IV, the GR III, and the GR IIIx. SmallRig’s 5677 sheet also lists the GR IV series and the GR III series. A case that is not on those lines is a different product.
What the magnetic lid changes
Ricoh describes the GC-11 top cover as a magnet closure for quick access, and the case includes a belt loop. The GC-12 is the one that folds and has no belt loop. They are not two colors of the same case.
Why the half case is only 51.9 g
That weight is on the SmallRig 5677 sheet, ±5 g, for a leather and microfiber half case measuring 114.3×42.1×56.0 mm. The wrist strap in the same kit is 120.0×10.0×2.0 mm. It covers the lower body. It is not a full pouch.
What memory the case does not replace
Ricoh’s GR IV specifications list about 53 GB of internal memory and a microSD card slot. A case does not change either one. Card choice for this body is covered in the memory card guide for the GR IV.
