Best Protective Case for DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro
Past 20 m, or in water that hits hard, the Osmo Action 5 Pro needs DJI’s waterproof case. The body is 70.5×44.2×32.8 mm and 146 g, rated to 20 m on its own and 60 m only inside that case. The Osmo Action 60m Waterproof Case is the shell that matches the 60 m figure. Check Osmo Action 60m Waterproof Case on Amazon.

How We Picked
Three sourced facts decide the shell: the camera’s own depth split, the official case that creates the 60 m rating, and the lighter alternatives that do not.
- The body is already small, and the depth rating is conditional. DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro specs, September 2026: 70.5×44.2×32.8 mm, 146 g, 20 m without the waterproof case and 60 m with it. Both the camera and that case are IP68. DJI says to close the battery cover and the USB-C cover and tighten the glass lens cover, and to add the waterproof case for long sessions or high water impact. Hot springs and corrosive liquids are excluded.
- The 60 m case and the floating wrap are different products. DJI Store, Osmo Action 60m Waterproof Case: 87.4×42.8×79.4 mm, 104 g, three anti-fog inserts, compatible with Osmo Action 5 Pro, Osmo Action 4, and Osmo Action 3. DJI Store, Osmo Action Floating Case: 36 g, 101.89×98.8×71.77 mm, long lanyard, same three cameras. DJI does not give the floating case its own depth rating.
- A cage protects the body on land and does not replace the dive case. SmallRig 4119C product sheet: 81.3×34.8×58.4 mm, 92 g ±5 g, aluminum alloy and silicone, listed for Osmo Action 5 Pro, 4, and 3. DJI Store, Osmo Action 5 Pro Glass Lens Cover: 32.25×32.35×4.48 mm, 10 g, listed for Osmo Action 5 Pro.
Detailed Reviews
Osmo Action 60m Waterproof Case View on Amazon View on B&H
| Dimensions | 87.4×42.8×79.4 mm |
|---|---|
| Weight | 104 g |
| Depth | 60 m, the rating DJI pairs with this case |
| In the box | Waterproof case, three anti-fog inserts (24×22.5×3.2 mm, 2 g each) |
| Compatibility | Osmo Action 5 Pro, Osmo Action 4, Osmo Action 3 |
Why it fits the Osmo Action 5 Pro. DJI’s spec page splits the rating in one sentence: 20 m without this case, 60 m with it. The camera body is only 70.5×44.2×32.8 mm and 146 g, so the case adds a defined shell (104 g, 87.4 mm long) instead of a loose pouch. High-strength glass is what DJI specifies for the front. Before it goes under, the battery cover, the USB-C cover, and the glass lens cover still have to be shut. That is a DJI requirement, not an optional extra.
Buy it when the shoot is a long dive or water that hits the housing. Skip it for a desk, a bike mount, or a pool where 20 m is already more depth than the camera will see. DJI’s compatibility line on this case is Action 5 Pro, Action 4, and Action 3.

SmallRig 4119C Cage for Osmo Action 5 Pro View on Amazon View on B&H
| Dimensions | 81.3×34.8×58.4 mm |
|---|---|
| Weight | 92 g ±5 g |
| Material | Aluminum alloy and silicone |
| Mounts | Top cold shoe, anti-twist 1/4-20 holes on three sides |
| Compatibility | Osmo Action 5 Pro, Osmo Action 4, Osmo Action 3 |
Why it fits the Osmo Action 5 Pro. SmallRig’s sheet for 4119C is a form-fitting cage for this body, released with a press lock, full button access, and a battery door that opens from the right without taking the cage off. The left side is called out for a DJI Mic, and the right side takes the camera’s magnetic quick-release adapter. At 92 g it is lighter than the 104 g dive case, and it is the land shell: DJI’s 60 m number is not a claim SmallRig makes for this cage.
Buy it when the camera needs a microphone, a light, or a clamp and the shoot is above water. Skip it for a dive past 20 m. The sheet lists Action 5 Pro, 4, and 3 only.

Osmo Action Floating Case View on Amazon View on B&H
| Dimensions | 101.89×98.8×71.77 mm |
|---|---|
| Weight | 36 g |
| In the box | Floating case and Osmo Action long lanyard |
| Depth | Not given. The camera’s 20 m rating still applies |
| Compatibility | Osmo Action 5 Pro, Osmo Action 4, Osmo Action 3 |
Why it fits the Osmo Action 5 Pro. DJI’s floating case wraps this camera and ships with a lanyard so the body stays on the wrist. The published weight is 36 g, against 104 g for the dive case and 146 g for the camera. The outer size is larger than the camera because the shell is there to float and to be seen, not to shrink the rig. DJI Store lists it for Action 5 Pro, 4, and 3, and does not publish a 60 m figure for it.
Buy it for surfing, a boat, or a pool when losing the camera matters more than going deeper. Skip it when the shot is past 20 m or when water impact is the reason DJI tells you to fit the waterproof case. DJI Store has listed this case at USD $39 and the 60 m case at USD $89.

If You Need Something Else
The lens cover is the piece DJI tells you to tighten before the waterproof case goes under. It does not replace that case.
Osmo Action 5 Pro Glass Lens Cover View on Amazon View on B&H
| Dimensions | 32.25×32.35×4.48 mm |
|---|---|
| Weight | 10 g |
| Glass | High-strength glass, hydrophobic AF coating |
| Compatibility | Osmo Action 5 Pro |
This is the lens cover, not a body case. DJI lists it at 10 g for Osmo Action 5 Pro only, and the waterproof-case instructions say to tighten the glass lens cover before the camera goes under. Keep it when the front element is the part getting scratched, and still use the 60 m case when the depth rating is the point. Card capacity is a separate choice: the body takes microSD up to 1 TB, covered in the memory card guide for the Osmo Action 5 Pro.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why the depth rating changes from 20 m to 60 m
DJI publishes both numbers on the Osmo Action 5 Pro spec page. 20 m is the camera with the battery cover, USB-C cover, and glass lens cover closed. 60 m is that setup inside the waterproof case. The two ratings are not interchangeable.
What has to be shut before the camera goes under
DJI’s note on the waterproof case says to close the battery compartment cover and the USB-C port cover, and to tighten the glass lens cover. The same note says not to use the camera in hot springs or in corrosive or unknown liquids. The case and the camera are both rated IP68.
Whether the floating case adds depth
No depth figure is published for it. DJI describes a wrap that floats and a lanyard, at 36 g, for Action 5 Pro, 4, and 3. The camera’s own 20 m rating is the one that still applies.
Why the cage still reaches the battery
SmallRig’s 4119C sheet says the battery comes out from the right side without removing the cage, and that buttons stay accessible. The cage weight on that sheet is 92 g ±5 g. It is not the product DJI uses for the 60 m rating.
What the anti-fog inserts are
The waterproof case box includes three inserts, each listed at 24×22.5×3.2 mm and 2 g. They sit with the case for long underwater sessions. They are not a substitute for closing the doors.
