The Fujifilm X-T50 packs the same 40.2-megapixel X-Trans 5 HR sensor as the X-T5 into a 438 g body with a film-simulation dial and no built-in ND. The X100VI’s four-stop switch does not exist here. The kit-adjacent zoom is XF 16–50mm F2.8–4.8 at 58 mm — not the X-T5’s 77 mm 16–55 F2.8. PolarPro Edition II is not made in 58 mm. The 2026 first buy is the PolarPro Peter McKinnon Edition II Variable ND 2–5 Stop in 67 mm, with a 58→67 step-up on the 16–50.

  • 16–50 only, no step-up: NiSi 1–5 58 mm.
  • First 58 mm under $80: K&F KF01.1449V1.
  • F-Log2 noon: PolarPro 6–9 67 mm (75-1021) in Layer 2.
  • Skip: X-T5 77 mm as the default. X100VI 49 mm. Assuming a built-in ND. Software ND.

How We Picked

Three official facts decide the glass. Everything else is a pairing.

  • No built-in ND; ISO 125; IBIS 7 stops; 6.2K30 / 4K60. Same 40.2MP family as X-T5, smaller body (~438 g), film-sim dial. Internal ND is an X100 feature. (Fujifilm X-T50)
  • XF 16–50 F2.8–4.8 is 58 mm; XC 15–45 is 52 mm. PolarPro Edition II is not sold in 58 mm (49/67/77/82/95). 67 mm + step-up is the PolarPro path. (PolarPro Edition II sizes)
  • F-Log2 is 13+ stops — not extra ND. 6.2K is 30p; 4K goes to 60p. 24p still wants ~1/48. (Fujifilm X-T50 specifications)

Best forISO 125 stills + 6.2K / 4K24–30

X-T50 ND is 67 mm PolarPro plus a 58→67 ring — not a 77 mm wrong SKU for this product.

Fujifilm’s X-T50 page: 40.2MP X-Trans CMOS 5 HR, ISO 125 native (was extended on X-T30 II), IBIS up to 7.0 stops, about 438 g with battery, 6.2K/30p 4:2:2 10-bit, 4K/60p, F-Log2 (13+ stops). There is no internal ND. XC 15–45 kits are 52 mm. XF 16–50mm F2.8–4.8 R LM WR is 58 mm. The X-T5 article’s 77 mm 16–55 F2.8 is a different zoom.

PolarPro Edition II ships in 49 / 67 / 77 / 82 / 95 mm — not 58. A 67 mm 2–5 plus a cheap 58→67 step-up is one CinemaSeries ring for the compact bag. At ISO 125, f/2.8–4, 1/50, noon still wants a 2–5. F-Log2 wide open is Layer 2’s 6–9 in 67 mm.

40MP will show a crossed-polarizer X. Hard stops matter. IBIS holds a long still; it does not replace 180° shutter.

  • 67 mm is the smallest PolarPro Edition II that covers XF 16–50 with a step-up
  • 2–5 matches ISO 125 and 6.2K / 4K24–30
  • Hard stops on a 40MP file
  • Needs a 58→67 (or 52→67) step-up on the kit zooms
  • F-Log2 noon at f/1.4 still wants 6–9

Best forFilm-sim dial + 16–50 without a step-up

If the 16–50 never comes off, skip the step-up and buy True Color in 58 mm.

The X-T50’s film-simulation dial is why this body exists. Those JPEGs sit at ISO 125. NiSi’s 58 mm 1–5 screws straight onto XF 16–50. XC 15–45 owners still need 52 mm or a step-up. True Color is the Value pick because PolarPro will not sell Edition II in 58 mm.

  • Native 58 mm on XF 16–50
  • 1-stop floor
  • True Color on 40MP film sims
  • Does not cover 67 mm primes without another filter
  • F-Log2 noon still wants 6–9

Best forFirst 58 mm on XF 16–50

Cheap 58 mm ND2–32 for XF 16–50. Confirm KF01.1449V1. Do not order the X-T5 77 mm SKU.

KF01.1449V1 is the 58 mm Nano-X ND2–32. Stay off the last ½ stop on a 40MP sensor. XC 15–45 is 52 mm — a different SKU. This is not an 82 mm Sony.

  • Native 58 mm SKU
  • ND2–32 matches the 2–5 job
  • No hard stops
  • 52 mm kit zoom needs another size

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the X-T50 have the X100VI’s built-in ND?

No. Four-stop internal ND is X100-series. X-T50 needs a screw-in filter.

Why not 77 mm like the X-T5 article?

X-T5 Overall is XF 16–55 F2.8 at 77 mm. X-T50’s matching zoom is XF 16–50 F2.8–4.8 at 58 mm. Different lens, different first ring.

Why 67 mm PolarPro if the lens is 58 mm?

Edition II is not made in 58 mm. 67 mm plus a 58→67 step-up is one PolarPro for 16–50 and 67 mm primes.

2–5 or 6–9 first?

2–5. Native ISO 125. 6–9 is F-Log2 noon.

Does IBIS replace ND?

No. Up to 7 stops of IBIS holds a long still. It does not cut 6.2K at 1/48.

Will an X-T5 77 mm PolarPro fit 16–50?

Only with a step-down (vignette risk) or by not using that lens. Buy 67/58 mm for this body.

The X-T50 is a 40MP compact hybrid with ISO 125, 6.2K, IBIS, and no built-in ND. Start with PolarPro 2–5 67 mm and a 58→67 step-up on XF 16–50. Use NiSi 1–5 58 mm if that zoom never comes off. Use K&F KF01.1449V1 as the cheap 58 mm. Do not copy the X-T5 77 mm kit.
