The video manual\u2019s output table says color sampling is YCC 4:2:2 10-bit, and the effective bit depth of the video signal is what goes out. The HDMI Output Signal menu includes 4096\u00d72160, 3840\u00d72160, 1920\u00d71080, and 1280\u00d7720, and which line is available depends on the recording format, resolution, and frame rate. If Linked to HDMI Monitor is off and the monitor cannot take the selected signal, HDMI output stops. The LCD is 3.2 inches, 3:2, about 2.1 million dots. A cable protector is recommended. The system map says to use a cable no longer than 2.5 m, with a Type D plug at the camera.<\/li>\n  <li><strong>HDMI RAW is not the same picture.<\/strong> Setting Main Rec Format to HDMI RAW sends RAW from the HDMI OUT terminal. The manual says the image will not display correctly on a device that is not compatible with that function, and that the HDMI Output Signal menu is unavailable in this mode. Full frame and Super 35mm are 10-bit in that table; Super 16mm is 12-bit. Canon\u2019s January 19, 2022 newsroom note says ProRes RAW up to 8K\/30P, and that only the Atomos Ninja V+ was supported as of that date. Atomos\u2019s EOS R5 C page names the Ninja Ultra for ProRes RAW up to 8K at 30 fps. B&#038;H\u2019s replacement listing marks the Ninja Ultra no longer available. None of the three picks below is that 2022 footnote.<\/li>\n  <li><strong>The current Ninja cards are the prices and the input ceilings.<\/strong> Atomos lists the Ninja TX at $999 with HDMI up to 8Kp30 and recording up to DCI 4Kp60 and UHD 60p. The Ninja TX GO is $799; its tech page lists 4K DCI and UHD through 60p, and ProRes RAW up to 6Kp30. The Ninja RAW is $699, and the series card lists its HDMI input only up to 6Kp30. All three are 5-inch, 10-bit touchscreens; RAW, TX GO, and TX are the 1500-nit models. Feelworld\u2019s LUT6S store price is $389.99, with a 6-inch 1920\u00d71080 panel at 2600 cd\/m\u00b2. The camera\u2019s monitoring HDMI is YCC 4:2:2 10-bit, and the output menu can be 4096\u00d72160 or 3840\u00d72160 at the recording frame rate when that line is available, including 59.94P and 50.00P on the modes where the manual\u2019s table offers 2160p. The Ninja TX is the current 5-inch model whose own card lists both that 4K60 class and an HDMI input up to 8Kp30. The camera has no SDI port, so the TX\u2019s SDI jack is unused on this body. The plug at the camera is still Type D. Atomos sells locking HDMI cables as part of that system; the camera side of any cable still has to be micro-HDMI, and Canon\u2019s system map caps the cable at 2.5 m.<\/p>\n  <p>Buy it when the HDMI Output Signal menu will sit on 2160p at 50 or 59.94, or when you want the input line that Atomos prints as 8Kp30. Skip it when you only need a picture at 30p or below: the TX GO is $200 less and still lists 4K through 60p. Also skip the assumption that this box is the recorder in Canon\u2019s January 19, 2022 note. That note named the Ninja V+. Atomos\u2019s R5 C page names the Ninja Ultra for 8K\/30 ProRes RAW, and B&#038;H marks the Ultra no longer available. It also lists 1920\u00d71080 through 120p, so the camera\u2019s 1080p and 720p HDMI choices are inside a smaller line on the same page. Wi-Fi is on this model. The camera\u2019s clean HDMI and the simultaneous LCD picture do not depend on that radio.<\/p>\n  <p>Buy it when the job is the YCC 4:2:2 10-bit picture, including 2160p at 59.94, and you are not using HDMI RAW at 8192\u00d74320. Skip it for that RAW mode: 8192\u00d74320 is 8K, and this recorder\u2019s RAW line stops at 6Kp30. The manual is explicit that a device which is not compatible with HDMI RAW will not show that image correctly.
